That was fast.

"Mom! There you are!" "Hey, Aph." "Oh! Hey Aaron!" "How are you holding up?" "I brought you feel better breakfast! Can't work on an empty stomach ri-"

"Oh, I'm sad and upset about Zane...Yeah!" She beamed.

You pouted just a little at the way she completely cut you off. If she didn't want to talk she should've just said so.

"I understand. We'll find him. Just not on an empty stomach."

"Yeah! Member? Pancakes? The ones you're gonna share with your daughter-"

"Yeah, yeah kid. Just wait a second, will you?"

Okay..ouch.

You huffed and handed the pancakes to Aaron who gazed at Aphmau strangely. She's never one to get annoyed with you of all people.

It doesn't matter who she's talking to, if you want her attention you get her attention.

He also wasn't incredibly fond of the way you cowered behind him in embarrassment after witnessing Aphmau get annoyed with you.

"Hey, she was just wanting to eat with you. There's no need to get upset. If you're really not hungry, me and Y/n will eat together." He calmly sighed, but you felt eased when Aaron reached behind him to hold your tiny hand in his.

"Wa-Wait, Aaron! Is Laurance here?"

Now that caught your attention.

Was Laurance here?

Why didn't he say hi!

And if not, why would Aphmau ask?

She knows he isn't.

Well, she should anyway.

"No. He's back at home. Remember?"

You stared at Aphmau, a hint of confusion on your face. Did she hit her head earlier? You opened your mouth to ask, but flinched a little when her eyes sparked a..color.

A different color.

You could've sworn it was..green?

However, that speck of green disappeared from your sight as quickly as it came.

Just what was going on...And why did Aphmau smell so different now? Kinda like--

"Aph, are you okay?" "Oh! Aaron! Can we go outside and look for Zane?" "Huh?" "It's just I thought I saw something out the window! I'm sure it was him!"

"But..you didn't say anything about this-"

"Please, Aaron? It might be him! We have to go!" Aphmau didn't wait for an answer before she prepared to leave, with or without you and Aaron.

"H-Hey, Mom hold on a second!" You departed from Aaron for a moment to go to Aphmau grabbing her hand.

It was cold in yours.

Her eyes just as dead.

She didn't hold it back.

Only staring at you, wordlessly..A hint of annoyance laying within her orbs, and also some curiousity.

She looked intrigued, surprised even.

But still dead.

You stepped backward, an unnerving feeling washing over you and making your heart pace picking up.

You bumped backwards into Aaron who had set the pancakes down to pick you up into his arms.

"Alright, fine. We can check outside, let's just make a quick the storm is picking up. I don't want Y/n to catch a cold."

"Then leave her." Aphmau said, almost instantly.

You didn't try to speak.

So Aaron did for you.

"...She stays with us no matter what. You of all peolle know that."

"Right, right. Sorry. Just...distraught about Zane, haha! Come on, lets go."

You buried half of your face into Aarons jacket as the three of you stepped out into the cold air.

Your cheeks already itched from the harsh cold pricking your skin. A storm really was coming.

Aphmau was walking for a long time...Aaron kept reassuring you you'd arrive to Zane soon.

But you had a bad feeling in your chest.

A really bad feeling..But it didn't matter.

You fell asleep anyways, Aaron carrying you in the cold with him.
