During the next couple of days, Edgar, Ben, (Y/N), and Pico stayed in little worn down, or abandoned houses to not raise suspicion that they were hiding.

During the night however, Edgar had haunting nightmares of their parents and the almost impossible scenario of them finding their hiding place.

On that night, Edgar woke up in a cold sweat from that kind of dream again. His brothers already knew about this and tried to help him in every way possible when this happened in the past.

This particular night left Edgar too shook by the nightmare that he felt like he needed to go on a little trail ride to soothe his mind.

"Lil bros, I'm going out for a trail ride. I just need to clear my head," Edgar called out.

"Okay, but try not to get noticed okay?" Ben replied back, with a hint of worry.

Edgar assures him that he'll be fine out there, and went outside.

He whistled for Freedom to come when outside. A few seconds later, the horse came to his owner.

"Hey boy, I just need to ride to clear my head," Edgar spoke softly to his beloved companion, while adjusting the saddle.

After adjusting the saddle, he mounted and set off to a small woodland area around the outskirts of the city.

Freedom was walking to start but later on, started tossing his head as if bored of the slow pace.

Edgar chuckled and let Freedom run on a mid-loose rein. Freedom then proceeded to canter through the area. Edgar eventually sat up straight and spread his arms out as if like a bird. He felt so free, so full of life, so alive.

After running for a bit, they took a break at a lake. They then turned back to return back to their hiding place.

But, both horse and rider couldn't shake a feeling as if being watched. Freedom started to shift on the spot and snorting.

"Easy boy, its okay..." Edgar whispered in his horse's ear repetitively while lightly stroking the horse's mane.

A few seconds later, Edgar was suddenly knocked off of Freedom's back and was pinned down by a person with a gangster like outfit. Right when seeing the outfit, Edgar's eyes widened in horror.

These people were part of a gang who steal horses and ransom them off to strict and cruel equine training facilities, only for the sake of making lots of money off stolen horses.

Then, two other men came out from the woodlands surrounding them and threw lassos around Freedom's neck.

The horse freaked out, rearing and bucking, desperate to escape. It pained Edgar's heart as he hear his beloved horse whinnying in pain and fear.

"Stop! Don't do this!! Please don't take him away from me, he means the world to me!" Edgar desperately yelled out, trying to break free from the man's hold on him.

The man holding Edgar snickered and said, "No way, this young stallion will make us thousands. He seems like the bright horse that everyone will want. He doesn't deserve an owner so weak and pathetic like you,"

The men holding Freedom then tried to drag him away but, Freedom kept fighting it, digging his hooves into the ground to hold himself still.

"HEY! Behave now will ya!?" one of the men yelled, slapping Freedom's hindquarters. That strike forced Freedom to stop fighting and forcefully obeyed, walking awfully slowly with his head hung down low.

"FREEDOM! NOOOOO!!" Edgar yelled out as the man holding him threw him to the ground and went with the two other men, snickering menacingly.

All alone in the woodlands, Edgar cried loudly, mourning the heartbreaking capture.

While crying, he noticed a piece of paper on the ground in front of him. Upon examining it, he realized that it was a business card of the gang's selling facility. Now, he knew where to find Freedom.

When he got back, he explained the whole thing to Ben, (Y/N), and Pico, and they were mortified.

"What!? How could they do such a thing?!" (Y/N) yelled out in disbelief.

It was indeed a shame, with the fact that Freedom and Edgar had such a close bond with each other:

(Flashback)

(Memory: first meeting):

Edgar was looking for a horse to own in the market. After searching for a while until he saw it, a Frisian stallion in a small worn down stall. He seemed a little on edge because of all the greedy buyers who only wanted him for competition.

Even if one of them came close, the horse would bite each person's hand. Upon seeing Edgar, the salesman offered him to try to get close to the young stallion.

Edgar slowly walked up towards the stall, the market being dead quiet. His dark brown eyes locked with the horse's eyes, not breaking eye contact for even a second.

Edgar then at times moved closer very slowly.

Edgar eventually got close enough and slowly raised his hand to the horse's face, with his body language saying that the boy has no intentions of hurting the horse.

Instead of biting his hand like with the greedy buyers, the horse nuzzled the boy's hand, feeling safe around him.

Edgar chuckled softly and continued to gently caress the horse's head, while whispering, "Hello boy, its okay, I won't hurt you,"

As if responding to the boy's gentle words, the horse whinnied softly to him.

'I guess I found my heart horse,' Edgar thought while paying the price for the horse.

(Memory: first ride):

The next few weeks after buying the horse Edgar named Freedom, he had trained the stallion cautiously so he knows that he can trust the boy completely.

One day, it was the day that Edgar will ride him for the first time.

Surprisingly, Freedom didn't fight much when being tacked up, it was only when putting on the bridle the horse put up a bit of a fight.

Leading Freedom wasn't a problem. Nor was riding. Freedom was quite full of energy and seemed to enjoy going for a ride that wasn't in a competition.

"Wow, what a rush. You were itching for a leisurely ride like this for a long time haven't you?" Edgar spoke, bending down to stroke the horse's mane while on the horse's back. The horse just whinnied in response.

(Back to the present)

"But, how will we find him?" Pico inquires.

Edgar then pulled out the business card and said, "I know where, one of the men dropped this business card, it shows the location of their selling facility,"

"So, we have the evidence of where to find Freedom. We just need a plan," Ben then deduced.

"I know this gang, they never guard the facility at night. They always think that no horses will be taken while the day is out.

This is all based on observations I did in secret at night in the past when I first heard about them from around the city. Sneaking in at night shouldn't be a problem," Edgar presents, evidently stating hard evidence to orchestrate a good plan to get Freedom back without being caught...

To be continued...

(A/N):

Thanks for reading. If you're wondering how I was able to publish this on a Friday. Well, the answer is that I didn't have school today. I don't have school the coming Monday either so, I'll probably have more time to publish parts for my books like this one.

I'll be waiting for requests if you have ideas you want displayed in any of my stories in case I run out of ideas myself.

Thanks again for reading and I'll be cooking up another chapter to be continued when published. <3
