No String's On Me

All through dinner I plotted about what orders to give my three new house elves. I knew I wanted to have all my properties cleaned up. But I also knew I wanted papa to have extra protection. And I wanted someone to keep an eye on Sirius. Last thing I need is for him to do something stupid.

Absently I bade goodnight to Hermione and Neville when I was finished. And made my way to the Slytherin commons. I sat in Draco's chair and read about three chapters in the history book sitting nearby. When I felt Draco pick me up and sit with me on his lap I snuggled in. "Missed you my dragon" I mumbled pulling his arm around me. Receiving a chuckle and quick squeeze. I settled reading against his chest for a few more minutes before the house court started. The whole thing was honestly very interesting.

I nervously fidgeted in his lap after court was over. I had something I wanted to do. So far he had initiated every kiss to my lips and had done all the chasing. I knew if I wanted things to progress I had to make the next move. "What's wrong sweetie you've been fussing your sleeves for a bit." Draco asked tense.

I opened my mouth but quickly snapped it closed as I had no clue how to ask how proper courting works. I spotted pansy giggling with Daphne a bit not to far away. Having the best idea yet I said. "I need to speak with the girls. It's a subject I'm not really sure how to approach. And I don't think books will be enough to give me any real insight. But I want cuddles at the same time. Yet I kinda don't want to talk to them about it with you there because it's embarrassing to ....." Trailing off at the end to show that my mind was getting worked up.

He hummed at me softly. "So it's important for you to understand. Embarrassed that you don't understand it. And want to have some girl talk?" He asked gently rubbing my arms as he did so. I gave a small nod to him. He laughed lightly. "I'm right here sweetie. And I'll be here when your done. Go have some girl talk." He told me kissing my now blushing cheek. Something in his voice told me he didn't like it though.

I walked over to Daphne and Pansy sitting on a nearby chair as Millicent suddenly came over smiling at me. "So you do remember we exist!" Millicent joked at me. I smiled at her nodding while pretending I hadn't noticed flint sit down within hearing range. Clearly sent by Draco to spy on us.

"Well I'm in it now and.... Yule ball.... Dancing.... Publicly I'm with Luna." I paused cringing at the thought of actually dating my little sister. "But I'm really with Draco well at least we're dating I think.... No real dates yet.... And since you guys would know and would probably be able to tell me I figured I'd ask you....." I rambled a bit showing my nerves.

"Spit it out already Harry! Not that all of that isn't great gossip but just ask." Pansy whisper yelled at me. But with the other two nodding along I sighed.

"Am I doing something wrong to not have even gone on a date yet? I mean I read the courting books daddy bought for me. But I I just don't get it. And one mentioned that courting and dating are different but it didn't say how. And I just don't want to mess this up. I really do like Draco. What am I doing wrong?" I rambled off letting my anxiety show through to them had them all shocked. I noticed flint ease up from the chair and head for the book shelf in the corner with Draco hot on his heels. Yup definitely spying.

"So Draco hasn't taken you on a date yet and your scared it's going to fizzle out. As well as being nervous about yule ball not being able to go with Draco publicly. And you think Draco might get upset with you because of your political maneuvering." Daphne clarified all my rambling. I nodded while starring at the floor with a hard look. Really I was trying not to let my emotions carry me away to tearville.

"I also am apparently in need of fashion advice. At least according to daddy's alpha mate." I grouched to nobody in particular. Hearing giggles at that statement I looked up blinking rapidly. "Did I say that out loud!?" At their continued giggling and nods I groaned putting my face into my hands.

I felt a hand rest on my shoulder. "Let's go up to your room Harry. Draco might try to listen into our girl talk otherwise." Pansy chipped in. Then grabbed my hand pulling me towards daddy's office. The other girls quickly following suit.

Once into daddy's quarters I lead them straight to my room. After a quick gonna let daddy know I darted to Daddy's room knocking softly I opened the door. " Da... Papa!? Erm... Just wanted to let you know I have some friends in my room hanging out with me. Nothing major just some girl talk... Erm have fun..." I then closed the door feeling completely horrified. I didn't need or want to see that. What was he doing with that broken necklace there though???

Walking back into my room I saw they were going through my new clothes and pairing them. "Woah you look scared for life Harry what happened?" Millicent asked coming over. Rubbing my back lightly.

"Nothing just didn't need or want to see daddy like that." I spoke robotically. "What are you guys doing?" The girls starred at me for a moment then they all bust up laughing.

"Just going to teach you some fashion skills Harry. And as for the courting..." Daphne started. And we carried on until daddy poked his head in and told them it was time to head off for bed.

Daddy tucked me in smiling softly as I protested weakly that I wasn't tired. As soon as daddy left I called the elves in. Telling Dobby to start the process of cleaning up both the Potter and Black house's. Telling Kreacher to without being caught keep Sirius safe and fed. And telling winky to prepare to intervene should a dementer be called in to suck his soul. After telling her to also be not caught if it came to that. I yawned laying down curling up as Kreacher shut out the lights.
