"That's when Mikey stopped moving..." Y/n said as her lip quivered.

~Several Weeks Later~

Y/n ran in the yard as Cat followed behind her while pushing a ball. Despite how much she wanted to stop to catch her breath, she didn't since they were playing a game of tag and Cat was quite fast. Though, her body ignored that and she slightly stumbled, leaning against a tree as heavy and desperate gasps of breaths left her mouth as her chest heaved up and down.

"Hmph...I would be with Mikey, as I have been for all these years, training in the dojo with the others, but I can't...I wish and hope that by some miracle, he gets better..." Y/n muttered as she looked down.

Y/n looked back to look for Cat, who she expected to be running towards her, but her eyes widened as she slowly stepped away from the tree and moved forward.

"Cat! Careful! Don't go there! You're too tiny! The passing cars won't see you!" Y/n exclaimed as she ran after the ferret that approached the road.

Cat made it to the middle of the road before being pulled into Y/n's arms.

"Cat! You gotta learn to listen to me. You could've gotten hurt. I want to take you to visit Mikey and he wouldn't like it if you came hurt." Y/n huffed.

"Y/n!"

The girl turned her head to see Kurai and Homura running down the sidewalk from the corner, heading towards her.

"Get out of the way!" Kurai yelled with a frantic expression.

"Huh...?" She uttered in confusion.

Shinichiro sat beside Mikey's bed when he suddenly got a phone call. He saw that it was Hiromi, so he stepped out of the room to answer.

"Hello?"

"Shinichiro! It's Y/n! She got into an accident!" Hiromi's terrified voice was heard on the other line.

"Huh?" Shinichiro felt his heart drop.

"We're in the same hospital where Manjiro's at! But we're on the 5th floor! Please come when you can!"

"Yeah, I'll be there right now!" Shinichiro said before ending the call and peeking into Manjiro's room.

"Sorry, Manjiro! I gotta go! Something bad happened to Y/n!" He said before running down the hall.

Hiromi buried her face in her palms as she was beside Kurai, Homura, and their parents, staring through the glass panel into the room Y/n layed.

"Hiromi! What happened?" Shinichiro asked, staring at Y/n with a worried expression.

"It was Kurai and Homura who called me here...They only said that Y/n got seriously hurt..." Hiromi replied as sobs escaped her mouth.

Shinichiro turned to the twins who stared at the ground with wide eyes.

"We were coming back from the convenience store after leaving Y/n to play with Cat in the front yard...When we turned the corner, we heard her yell and looked to see that she was running after Cat who was headed towards the road..." Kurai muttered, biting his lip.

"The second she stepped onto the road, a car zoomed past us in her direction...We yelled at her to move, but she couldn't get outta the way quick enough...All I saw was that she was hit on the head..." Homura said, the scene replaying in his mind.

A doctor came out of Y/n's room, making them all turn to him expectantly.

"Well, she got a serious blow to the head and has fallen into a coma. However, due to force impact, it's likely that if she awakes, she won't be the same as before." The doctor informed.
