Remember the Days

 "What happened to her?" asked the nurse.

"She was shoved against the locker," Baekhyun said as he laid me on the bed.

"Oh my! Did you tell the principal about this incident?" the nurse asked as she checked up on me.

"No, ma'am we haven't," he sat down next to me.

"Well, luckily she doesn't have any deep cuts or anything. She just needs some rest," the nurse said.

"You should go home early, I'll give you a excuse letter saying you're injured." she smiled and sat on her table.

"Now, as for you, Byun Baekhyun, you are excused as well. You'll have to take care of ~~, okay?" she said and gave Baekhyun the excuse letter.

"I'll go get some ice pack," the nurse said as she left.

"Are you okay?" he asked worriedly.

"Neh," I answered.

"Are we still going out later? I don't think it's pretty good for your shape." he asked worriedly.

"Of course! We should! I mean, it's just..." I mumbled the last part.

"Alright, but this isn't a date is it?" he asked.

"Ani! Of course not! We're friends, who're spending time with each other, that's all!" I quickly said.

"Here's the ice pack," the nurse came back holding it.

"I'm guessing that you're a little bit better now, you won't be needing this." she smiled.

"We better go now," Baekhyun said as he helped me get up from the bed.

"I hope you'll feel better soon, ~~!" the nurse called out.

"So? Where are we going?" Baekhyun asked.

"Do you wanna watch a movie? Or let's just go buy some snacks first?" I asked for his opinion.

"Let's have snacks first," he said.

We went to a fast food restaurant, "So, what are you having today?" the girl behind the counter asked.

"Um, 1 SET A and 2 SET C's," Baekhyun informed.

Three? But there's only two of us ... ? Oh, maybe Baekhyun's just hungry.

"What a lovely couple! You might wanna try our Valentines Day Special!" she smiled.

"Aniyo! We are not a couple, we're just friends! Best friends actually!" I said as I shake my head.

"Oh well, too bad then. You two look lovely together..." She sighed, but the compliment caused me to blush hard. I really need to get a hold of myself.

Baekhyun paid for our meal and sat at the corner.

I noticed that he kept on looking on his phone and then up to me. He hasn't touched his food which is so unlike him. He would have ate the food already since he says it's better when it's hot. What's up with him though?

Should I tell him now? Or should I just wait?

I just decided to give him the cookies first to have something to talk about.

"Baekhyun, here, your cookies," I said and gave it to him with a smile.

"I thought it wasn't for me?" He asked as he snapped out of his daze.

"Of course it's for you! I baked it for you," I said. "But don't get me wrong, I didn't baked it cause I lik-"

"Really? These are really mine?" He asked, cutting me off.

"I baked them because you're really special to me, you're my best friend." I admitted.

"~~ ah, thank you you're so sweet." He smiled. "I really thought you were dating someone behind my back."

"By the way, didn't you tell me you've got a surprise?" I asked.

"Oh, yeah! I almost forgot," He said.

"What is it then?" I asked.

"I've been wanting to tell you this for a long time now," He looked at me, his face was serious.

"But I don't know what you'll react or say to me, so I kind of keep it,"

My heart started to beat fast, is he going to confess to me? Thump thump thump.

"~~ ah, I-I I have a girlfriend." Baekhyun announced.

What?!? He, he, he has a girlfriend? After hearing that, my heart started to break into millions of pieces.

"~~ ah, you don't seem happy for me?"

Is he kidding me? How can I be happy right now at this news? I feel like crying and he's asking me to be happy?

"Of course I am silly! I'm really happy for you!" I lied and faked a smile.

"You're not mad at me for not telling you?" He asked, worried.

"Well at first I was but now that I think about it, it's not really something to get mad about since you kinda did tell me already."

"That's a relief. We've been going out for 2 months now, and I just got this feeling that I needed to tell you!" He smiled. "And I really want you to get along with her."

How could I be stupid? Falling for my best friend? That's the stupidest thing to do! And even actually hoping that he is also in love with me just like how I am, it's just stupid. I have been just fooling myself.

"Oh, but isn't it Valentines today? Shouldn't you be going out with her instead of me?" I asked.

Now I ruined their date! How could I be so selfish? I'm such a life ruiner!

"Don't worry about it, she's coming to join us anyway." Baekhyun smiled. "She said it's totally fine with her."

I can't take this anymore, I have a feeling that I'm about to cry soon.

"Baekhyun, I don't feel well. I should go home and take a rest." I said as I stood up to leave. "My head is starting to get dizzy because of that shove earlier."

"Let me take you home," He said and stood up as well.

"No, you don't have to. I can get home alone, it's not that far anyway. And I can still walk just a little dizzy." I said. "And you have a date with her, I don't want to ruin that."

"It's alright, she'll understand." Baekhyun reached out to grabbed my bag but I did before he could.

"No need, I can go home by myself," I said and quickly ran out of the restaurant.

My tears soon burst out, why didn't I know of this? Falling for him is wrong right? I shouldn't have, I already knew that he won't like me.

Why did I even try? Why didn't I stop? Why did I even bother? I already warned myself that this kind of thing can happen? But why didn't I listen?

I stopped by our favorite tree in the park and sat on the grass.

I started hitting myself in the head that it started to hurt. My tears still falling from my eyes, I hugged my knees and continue to cry.
