The DVIL of Remnant

The tweeting of birds was heard as the sun rose on a new morning. Ruby is seen laying down on the ground of the patio of the house, looking up. While looking up, she sees a group of eight birds flying around together when two of them suddenly fly off close to the home. Ruby continued following it until she was interrupted by Yang overlooking her view.

"You're up early" Yang says.

"Hey, sis." Ruby says.

"Boop!" Yang says as she lets her head down, making her hair tickle Ruby's face.

Ruby laughs a bit before sitting up.

Ruby sighs as she says, "What are you doing up?"

"Can't fall back asleep." Yang says as she sits down next to Ruby.

"Ah, me neither," Ruby says.

Suddenly, Weiss' voice is heard from the entrance to the house.

"Well, fortunately, coffee exists."

Ruby and Yang look back, seeing Weiss holding a tray with three cups of coffee as they also see (Y/n) with a cup in his hands while Lady and Dante walk up.

Weiss walks toward the two and lowers the tray toward Yang, giving her a cup. She goes to Ruby, but Ruby crosses her arms in an x.

"No please!"

"Don't worry, I put in blasphemous amounts of cream and sugar, just for you." Weiss says.

"Oh, yeah! Nice Weiss strikes again!" Ruby says as she nearly grabs the cup, but Weiss pulls back.

"I will pour this on you and it will burn." Weiss says before handing the cup to Ruby, who nervously chuckles.

Weiss sits down on the ground as Dante stretches his arms out.

"Really has been a long trip, huh?" Dante says as he remains standing with (Y/n) doing the same.

"Yeah, a lot of things have happened." Lady says as she sits down next to Yang.

"Can't believe we're actually in Mistral." Yang says.

"That's what you can't believe?" Ruby says.

"Well, yeah! And all the other magic, devil friends, and stuff."

"Hey!"

"No offense. But... Okay, you know what I mean!" Yang says.

"I honestly wasn't sure if I'd ever see all of you again." Weiss says.

"Well, here's to defying expectations." Weiss says as she and Yang clink their cups before taking a sip.

Ruby nearly downs the whole cup in one go but she stops and looks back as she says, "I just wish Blake could be here with us."

"Yeah, Trish still has her... hands full." Dante says as Lady nods.

"Yeah, well Blake made her choice." Yang says.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Weiss questions, becoming annoyed.

"I mean she could've been here if she just stuck around. It's no big deal though. We'll be fine." Yang says with bitterness.

"Well, this... is foolish..." (Y/n) says to himself.

"Don't you want her here?" Ruby asks.

"Why would I want her here?" Yang says.

"Are you still mad at her for leaving?" Ruby asks Yang.

Yang scoffs as she says, "Oh, whatever gave you that idea, Ruby? No, I'm totally fine. I'm great."
