We all get up from the picnic table and walk back to Steve's car but Nancy starts to wander off somewhere else.
"Nance! Where you going?" Steve yells after her.
"I've got some things to look into." She responds
"Not something you wanna share with the rest of us?" Dustin says
"I don't wanna waste your time. It's a real shot in the dark."
"What are you crazy? Flying solo with Vecna on the loose?" Steve says his overprotective boyfriend side showing but why to Nancy? I'm his girlfriend! "You need someone to, someone to-
Nancy raises an eyebrow.
"Here." He chucks the keys to Robin "I'll stick with Nance you go to the shrink."
"Um Steve. I don't think you want me driving your car." Robin says
"Why?"
"I don't have a license."
"Why don't you have a license?"
"Because I'm poor." She shrugs. "Alright this is stupid." Robin grabs a torch from Dustin then walks over to Nancy. "Us ladies will stick together while you guys go and break into the school. Unless you think we need you to protect us?" Robin laughs.
"I'm sorry but what does that make me?" I yell after her.
"What?" She turns around.
"You said 'us ladies' then only you and Nancy are going to do whatever it is Nancy's planned. What does that make me?"
"Uh another lady that will stay with Steve so he's not alone?" She gives an awkward smile.
"Yeah okay, bye."
"Be careful!" Steve yells after them.
"Why is it that I'm always the goddamn babysitter!?" He complains as we get in the car.
"Well at least your not babysitting alone." I say.
"Please you're technically a child."
"Than that makes you a pedo."
"Oh shut up."
(Yes I stole this idea from the TikTok sound, who cares.)

"Okay she's in." Steve says stating the obvious as Max walks into her school councillors house.
"Missing collar bones not eyes." Dustin says from the back.
"So we're just gonna ignore what happened back there?" I say to Steve after a moments silence in the car.
"What? What happened back there Y/n?" Steve says turning his head to look at me.
"I dunno maybe that you were-
"Totally flirting with Nancy." Dustin says finishing what I was gonna say.
"Thank you Dustin." I nod.
"What!? I was not!" Steve argues.
"Oh okay, so going to help her with her plan instead of staying with me, not even thing about how neither me or Robin can drive!-
"Yeah okay calm down you're overreacting. Your getting jealous over nothing." Steve rolls his eyes.
"Well she should be!" Dustin starts. "You promised to keep her safe but then you go trying to help Nancy, your ex girlfriend who broke your heart! And to me it honestly looked like you had forgotten Y/n even exist-
"Okay thank you Dustin! That's enough!" Steve yells, he then turns to me. "I was not flirting with her! I was just simply tryna be nice-
"What and forgot that the relationship between you two is over and you now have someone who is-
"Are you gonna say better for me? Because if I'm going off this situation you aren't being any better then her!-
"We gotta go!" Max yells jumping in the car, interrupting our conversation. Steve starts the car and drives to the school.

"Does the key to her office open the school as well?" I ask as we all get out of the car and walk towards the high school doors.
"Uh probably not......" Dustin says.
"Does anybody have anything sharp?" I ask.
"What are you gonna do stab Dustin?" Steve says.
"Stab you more likely." I roll my eyes. "No I need something sharp or something small or something pointy to get the bloody doors open."
"You can pick locks?" Max asks.
"Yeah, why? Oh."
"Yeah Y/n that information would've been a little useful a few hours ago!" Steve yells.
"Oh I'm sorry but I wasn't asked, can you pick locks? Maybe it's because you were to focused on Nancy? Maybe that's it!-
Steve covers my mouth with his hand because I was yelling to loud.
"Y/n. Shut up." He whisper yells at me. "Now put your hand in your right front pocket."
"Why-Oh." I say as I pull out my pocket knife.
"Yeah. Now open the doors, please." He rolls his eyes and I debate actually stabbing him in the leg. I don't end up stabbing him because then we'd have no one to drive us around.

I finally get the door open after a few cuts on my fingers which no one except Max seemed to care about.
"Alright, Ladies first Stevie." I say pushing open the doors and letting Steve go first.
"You're real funny Y/n." He says walking inside. It doesn't take us anytime at all to find Miss Kelly's office since Max has been there multiple times. We get the door open a lot quicker this time because we actually have the key. I start opening draws and looking for Chrissy's file while Dustin talks to Robin and Nancy over the phone.
"I found Chrissy's!" I yell after a while.
"Yeah I found Fred's too." Max says, we place them both on the table to compare them. Max's eyes dart at three words that are on both of the files, headaches, nosebleeds and nightmares. All of sudden Max's eyes are closed and she's not moving.
"Hey is something up with Max?" I ask the rest of the group.
"Shit, obviously!" Dustin yells at me. We all start shaking her lightly and screaming her name tryna get her to wake up.
"MAX! WAKE UP! MAX! COME ON!"
Suddenly, as Robin and Nancy run into the room Max snaps awake. I pull her into a hug which she returns.
"What the fuck happened!? Are you okay?" I ask her.
"I need to explain a few things before I tell you what happened, is that okay?" She asks, still clearly shaken from whatever happened.
"Yes that's okay, just do it at your pace okay."

I didn't find this chapter interesting to write but I hope you liked reading it. Also extremely sry it took so long to update.
