"Are you kidding me?" I shouted, my frustration bubbling over as I glared at the kindest yet most stubborn person in my life—my best friend, Arya.
"Nopes," she replied with a bright smile, completely unfazed by my outburst.
That smile only made me angrier.
"Arya, how can you even think of being friends with him?!" I ran a hand through my hair, exasperated. "Dude, let me tell you something—being friend-zoned by someone you love hurts like hell. I can't just sit back and watch you do this to yourself. If you won’t put yourself first, then I will!"
She remained silent, the smile on her lips steady, but I knew better. I knew she was hurting.
"Hazel," she sighed, "I really don’t mind being friends with him. It’s not his fault he doesn’t feel the same way. Love can’t be forced, and I refuse to punish him for something out of his control."
"Neither should you punish yourself," I shot back.
Her smile didn’t waver. If anything, it grew softer. I hated this. I hated that she hid behind that calm exterior, acting like she was okay when she clearly wasn’t.
"Let's watch a drama," she said suddenly, reaching for her laptop. "It’s been ages since we last watched one together."
And just like that, she changed the subject. Classic Arya.
I sighed, knowing there was no point arguing further. "Fine," I muttered, plopping down beside her as she clicked on Legend of the Blue Sea.

As the episode played, Arya suddenly paused the screen and stood up, stretching her legs.
"I'm hungry. Don’t play it without me," she warned before heading to the kitchen.
I barely acknowledged her, my attention still on the frozen screen, my eyes tracing the subtitles left behind:
"All human males are the incarnation of jealousy." "If you don't know, memorize. Jealousy is the fastest path to love."
I heard Arya’s approaching footsteps and turned to find a mysterious smile plastered on her face.
Narrowing my eyes, I asked, "Have you watched this drama before?"
She merely shrugged, tossing me a packet of Doritos while popping open her own box of Pringles.
"Arya, are you thinking what I’m thinking?" I asked cautiously.
