"It's fine, girls, please leave." Gru ushered them out as you stood with them.

"Can we order pizza?" Margo asked while he was closing the door.

"What? You just had lunch?" Gru looked at the girls.

"Not now, for dinner." Margo stood outside the door.

"Yes, yes, now go."

"Oooh, can we get stuffed crust?" the question made everyone happy, "ooh, stuffed crust!"

"I will stuff you all in the crust!" Gru said, making the girls giggle.

Barely any time had passed and the girls had already ruined Gru's meeting. The three of them snuck back in and froze him. According to Gru they also messed with his presentation. You ended up talking to them instead of Gru since he was now in the basement with Doctor Nefario on what they would do next. You ordered food for yourself, the girls, and Gru, but he still hadn't been back.

Anita Bonita

Y/n, you have a meeting with the
divine council in thirty minutes.

I'll be there soon, let me tell
the girls that I have to go.

How did Gru's meeting go?

Not well

I'll tell you later

You looked at the girls who sat eating food, "I've got to go to a meeting, I'll see you later."

You kissed their foreheads, slipping your coat on to leave, "Tell Gru that something came up. Margo, let me know how he handles it."

-.-

Margo watched her adoptive father as he made his speech, "Now would be a good time to look for other employment options, I know I have fired up my resume, as I suggest all of you should do as well."

The girls walked forward, Agnes pulling on his sleeve, "What? What is it? Can't you see that I am in the middle of a pep talk?"

Gru's voice broke, trying not to cry as Agnes gave him their piggy bank with a few coins, "Hey, Hey, Boss!"

One by one, minions started to hold up money and objects of great value as he started to think, maybe there was another way they could get this project started. Margo looked at the business card that was in her pocket. Hopefully, she could help.

-.-

You looked outside of the window, watching the cars and people go by as the door opened, "Ms. there's someone here to see you."

"Let them in." You said, petting Via as the person walked in.

"Uhm, Y/n? If I could have a word with you, woman to woman." Margo's voice made you turn your chair.

"Woman to woman? Alright then, what is the topic of this meeting?" You watched as Margo sat in the chair, her feet dangling from the chair.

"Donation for stealing the moon. As you know the bank has decided to stop funding Mr. Gru and I was wondering if you'd donate some money to help get his plans completed. You've known him for a long time and how much this means to him." Margo pushed her glasses back.

"And why should I donate money?" Anita had already shut the door, standing behind you.

She knew that you felt bad for also participating in ruining his meeting and had already planned to compensate for it, "Because you care for this project... and you want to know what would happen with the moon gone."

You almost let out a chuckle, she knew you too well, "and would Gru know that I helped fund this project?"

Margo shook her head, "I know that you don't like the spotlight, which is why every time you donate to a charity it's either anonymous or in the company name. This would stay anonymous since he knows which companies you own."

You smiled, "Very well," you snapped your fingers, "Anita, the case, please."

She walked to the shelf, pulling out a leather satchel filled with cash, "normally I would write out a check, but there's no way that the bank would let Gru keep the money. The only secure way would be for Anita to accompany you to the house with the money."

You stood up, still petting Via who had fallen asleep before the meeting started, "She won't stay of course, not just because that would give up the discretion, but because she has... disdain for Mr. Gru... they don't get along well."

You chuckled thinking about the argument on physics they had at brunch, "She will drive you there, then make sure that you get inside safely. Gru must not know about this transaction."

Margo smiled, sticking her hand out, "So we have a deal?"

You shook her hand, "Yes, we do."
