As I neared Jonny's truck, I saw Beck already positioned at the back. She gave me no choice but to sit in front. I hopped on and Jonny immediately started the engine and sped away onto the main road. The party was located just a few blocks from where our dorms were. Beck said that a grad student was throwing a party just because. We laughed, as it was a viable point to keep our sanity from working through our courses. A definite mad lad we could appreciate.

When we got there, the party had started. We left our jackets in the truck so we wouldn't lose them. From the looks of it, people were already buzzed from the overflowing drinks stationed in the kitchen. The music was loud enough to get everyone pumped up. It was a bit dark, but the strobe lights kinda helped to illuminate some path to get through a throng. Beck was quick to grab a cup of fruit punch and offered me one. I took it and downed it like a shot. The bitterness from the alcohol made me scrunch my face in distaste. I was in need of a primary boost to get through this party.

"Damn, Sabina." Beck laughed and downed one as well.

I suddenly felt Jonny's warm hand on my bare waist. "I'll be back. Don't talk to anyone," he whispered.

His simple touch rooted me to the ground. It had been a while since I felt the surge of arousing electricity. I wasn't even drunk yet.

This is bad.

"Beck, I need you beside me at all times." I told her. Jonny telling me to not talk to anyone kind of irked me. How was I supposed to enjoy the party then?

"You know I can't keep that promise. I'm a terrible friend."

"You're right. What was I thinking? I can't be alone with Jonny tonight." I pleaded with my eyes, hoping she would understand. The internal struggle was doing a lot of things to my head. Every poor decision was waiting.

"First of all, I can't believe how fast you just agreed that I'm a bad friend!" She pouted. "And second, you can always find me. Okay? It's shitty advice but, I'm here. I would leave that person even when I'm about to have an orgasm."

I couldn't contain my laughter. Beck meant every word. I knew, and she didn't want to be cheesy about it. "Gross. You could have just stopped that you'd be here for me," I retorted, still grateful.

"I wanted you to know how far I would go to be here for you. I also trust Jonny." She replied a little too seriously.

It was more like I didn't trust myself around him. The choices I would make from his scent alone were a fair warning. I simply smiled, thanked her and slabbed on a kiss on her cheek. "You're awesome."

She put an arm around me, and I felt the comfort I wanted. "You know it. Now, come on. Let's take a shot and dance."

We downed a shot of tequila and sucked on a salted lemon. It was another boost to get us to dance. Beck guided me and did our own thing until an icy hand had ran down my arm. I looked up to see Rob, a friend from class, smiling down at me. We would usually hang out whenever there was alcohol so, it wasn't a surprise to see him here.
