"He's cool," Dustin said, holding his arm out. "He's cool."

"I'm cool man," Steve whispered. "I'm cool."

"What are you doing here?" Eddie asked, looking between Steve and us.

"We're looking for you," Dustin answered.

"We're here to help," Robin added, clutching her flashlight.

"Eddie these are my friends." Dustin pointed at us. "You know Robin, from the band." He pointed at Robin who began to imitate playing her instrument. "This is my friend Max. The one who never wants to play D&D." Max waved. "And you know Y/n." He pointed at me now. "She sits with us sometimes at lunch." Dustin continued. "The one who never plays D&D with us because she is always with Steve."

"Oddly specific," I piped in.

"Eddie," Dustin said. "We're on your side. I swear on my mother. Right guys?"

I nodded. "Yes, we swear."

"On Dustin's mother." Robin stuttered.

"Yeah, Dustin's....Dustin's mother." Steve managed to say.

Eddie thought for a moment before letting go of Steve.

I immediately rushed over to Steve who placed his hands on his knees, groaning slightly. "Jesus, you okay?" I asked. Receiving a nod from Steve, I grabbed his arm, leading him to the closest stool so he could sit down. I put my fingers under his chin, making him look at me as I checked his neck to see if he was cut somewhere. Luckily he wasn't. Steve groaned again as I let go of his chin before focusing my attention on Eddie who was trembling.

"Eddie..." Dustin said, crouching in front of him. "We just want to talk." He went to grab the bottle from his hands but Eddie moved his hand. "Okay?"

Robin kneeled next to them. "We want to know what happened."

Eddie shook his head before answering. "You won't believe me." He sniffed.

"Try us." Max shrugged as Eddie looked at us once more.

"Her body just, like, lifted up in the air and, uh..." He began to explain. "And she just, like, hung there. In the air. And her bones...uh, she..." Eddie whimpered as he shook his head. "Her bones started to snap. Her eyes, man. It...it was like there was something, like inside her head, pulling. I...I didn't know what to do, so I...I ran away. I left her there."

We stayed quiet as we didn't know how to respond.

Eddie scoffed. "You all think I'm crazy, right?"

"No." I shook my head as I walked over to him, kneeling in front of him. "No, we don't think you're crazy."

"Don't bullshit me, man." Eddie snapped. "I know how this sounds."

"We're not bullshiting you. We believe you." I said softly.

Eddie exhaled as he shook his head.

"Look," Dustin began. "what I'm about to tell you might be a little... difficult to take."

"Okay," Eddie nodded.

"You know how people say Hawkins is...cursed?" Dustin asked. "They're not way off. There's another world. A world hidden beneath Hawkins. Sometimes it bleeds into ours."

"Like ghosts and shit?"

"There are some things worse than ghosts," Max answered.

"These monsters from this other world...we thought they were gone," Dustin said. "But they've come back before."

"That's why we needed to find you." I piped in.

"If they're back again, we need to know," Max said.

"That night," Robin began. "did you see anything?"

"Dark particles, maybe?" Max asked.

Eddie shook his head, looking at the floor, trying to remember if he saw something.

"It would almost look like dust, swirling dust," Dustin explained.

"No, man, there was nothing you could see or, uh...or touch." Eddie paused for a second. "You know, I tried to wake her, man. She couldn't move. It was like she...she was in a trance or something."

Robin and I exchanged eye contact as we listened to Eddie.

"Or under a spell," Dustin suggested.

"A curse," Eddie concluded.

"Vecna's curse," I piped in.

"Who's Vecna?" Steve asked.

"An undead creature of great power," Dustin answered, his eyes widening.

"A spell caster," Eddie added, looking at Dustin.

"A dark wizard."
