I sigh as the group comes back. We have been collecting things for this person named Negan for a little while, but our food has been running low. Fortunately, I haven't met this Negan guy yet, thankful to always schedule runs at the right time.
It's just weird to think that my dad's number one enemy has the same name as a teacher I once had. Me and him did have a secret relationship, but after my dad got shot I ended it.
I walk over to Rick and Aaron and see a trunk full of supplies. I smile thinking we finally got enough. As soon as I hug my dad we are interrupted by loud banging on the gates.
"Little pig, little pig, let me in." I hear a guy yell. I look at my dad and he curses.
"Could I possibly make it out the sewers? What will he do if he finds out I'm your daughter?" I ask my dad, Rick, frantically. He kisses my head and walks to the gate.
"Just go blend in with the crowd." He whispers as he lets me go. I nod and quickly blend into, the now bigger, crowd forming around.
Rick opens the gate and I swear I see a ghost. No way that can be him, it's just purely coincidence, right? I look down on my feet and hope he doesn't recognize me.
"Now, Rick. What did you get us today?" He asks. That voice, it's still the same.
"What's in the trunk is half yours." He says. Negan chuckles and I take a glance up. He glances around then stops and stares at me. I quickly slink into the crowd before he has a chance to fully recognize me. He looks back at Rick and continues their conversation forgetting me. Or so I thought
I sigh a breath of relief and start to wall back to our house. Once there I go into the kitchen and get myself a glass of water. I down it and lean against the counter.
Once I fully relax I hear a knock at the door. I sigh thinking it's probably just my dad checking on me. I walk to the door and open it.
"Dad, I don't think .... oh." Is all I can muster once I realize it's Negan, and once my college english teacher.
"Damn, it's really good to see a familiar face." He says. I look around him and don't see my dad anywhere.
"Where's my dad?" I ask him, completely acting like I don't know him.
"Who?" He asks confused. Oh, he doesn't know.
"Uh, Rick?" I say cautiously. He chuckles and leans against the door frame
"You mean to tell me, that before all of this, I was sleeping with The Rick Grimes's daughter." He says cockily. I groan and pull him inside, shutting the door behind him.
"Where is he?" I ask again more sternly, but I can't deny he certainly has aged very well, especially being this close now.
"Relax, he is helping load up my supplies. But, I just needed to check on something to make sure my eyes didn't trick me, and believe me, I'm glad I did." He says eyeing me up and down. I groan and slap him on the chest.
"No, no, no. This can't happen. I ended it when my dad was shot, and I'm glad I did." I say walking away. He just chuckles, following me into the kitchen.
"So, tell me. How did you wind up here?" He asks. I shrug, and take another drink of my water.
"Like all the others. My dad found us just on the out-skirts of Atlanta. We had a bigger group back then, now it's just Me, Dad, Carl, Carol, and Daryl left." I say. He walks over to me leaning against the counter next to me.
"Damn, not only were you my top student but you're a total badass. Tell me, you still have those old feelings, because I sure as in hell do." He says chuckling. I groan rolling my eyes.
