~LOOK AT THE MAN YOU LOVE (10/20)

Start from the beginning

-Do you like me? -I repeated again, obscuring his rational speech.

Yo han snorted openly, nailing the car on the driveway before Jack's house.

-Yo han! Answer me! Please you have to let me kn... -
I failed to end my sentence for the second time, as his mouth covered mine, quick and assertive, eating the rest of my words right down his throat; breaking the insubstantial flow of my thoughts, my vision of the present reality...
And right there I felt myself lacking, my cheeks on fire as the rest of my body responding to the warmth of his hands on my hips, under my green sweatshirt.

He leaned further down, sliding his mouth over my neck, leaving wet kisses on the way, all consuming, exhausting in a good sense, compatible with my skin that ignited whenever he touched me. Whenever he came unto me.
I moaned softly, stretching my fingers through his hair, behind his neck, almost clinging to him, like a twig that needed to stay attached to the tree.

-Is that enough of an answer? -he whispered in my ear, making me shiver with pleasure.

-And it's also why I am afraid to get so close to the candle...- he added, leaving me puzzled, with a bitter taste in my mouth.

-What do you mean? Are you afraid of being burnt?-

Kang Yo Han tried to retreat but I didn't give him a chance, lacing both arms around his neck, remaining embraced. Anchored.
-Talk to me- I insisted, drawing small kisses on his left cheek.
He sighed heavily, and I didn't know if it was from the kisses or from my words, but I continued to instigate him with gentle speech.

-Ga On, your friends are waiting for you, you should go...-

I shook my head slowly, squeezing him even tighter, a scent of vanilla soap under my nose. From his soft hair.

-Tell me why you're afraid to come near me...- I insisted, ignoring the buzzing of my phone in my jeans pocket.

Jack was definitely calling to find out what had happened to me and to know why I was delaying.

-It's not that easy... You wouldn't understand-

-Then make it easier for me to understand! Please Yo Han!-
My voice cracked in frustration or perhaps impatience, in the manner I longed to know everything about him.

-Yo Han? -

I loosened the grip of my arms, pulling away that much to look him straight in his dark, sonorous eyes.
Eyes I loved to call "Cursed", for how they ravished me into a mirror, into a picture of my heart.

-You see... When I say I am the moth attracted to the light that never goes out, I don't mean I am afraid to approach the candle...-

Kang Yo Han peered at my face, stroking it softly with his hand.
-I'm not afraid of being burnt, but of extinguishing that candle with the flapping of my frantic wings...-

I shook my head, perceiving his reverse speech.

-You will not extinguish me Yo han, I am strong...I can be strong for both of us- I retorted dull, stubborn and unreasonable.

But Kang Yo Han stared at me with sad eyes, pausing only to linger for a long time. And then, gracefully, he placed a kiss on my forehead.

🔸KANG YO HAN🔸

I had lied about my mother, as she had not died at my birth, but when I was six years old.

My father had mistakenly killed her. A wrong shot, while playing with his gun. But to speak of her, would lead to speak of my father and consequently of me and my brother, and I could not bear it.

-Kim Ga On, you have to go- I urged him, noticing his mobile phone screen, turning up.

-All right, all right... But then promise me you'll keep talking to me, don't ignore me like you always do- he complained, loosening his fingers around me reluctantly.

I hated making promises, I usually never made them, since I couldn't keep them.

-I'll try- I replied instead, getting a grimace from him. His eyes beautiful and shining. His face adorned and sweet like honeycomb.

-Okay, see you tomorrow- he said, jumping out of the van, his backpack with his things, over his shoulder.

-Good night- I said, waiting for him to walk away, to at least enter the house so I could breathe a sigh of relief.
However, instead of ringing the front doorbell, I saw him making his way back towards me, as if he had forgotten something else.
I stared at him bemused, one eyebrow raised.
-Have you forgotten something?-

Kim Ga on shook his head, stopping in front of my lowered window.

-Can I have another kiss?-

I found myself more than a tad surprised, a sense of wonder on my stonecold face, as totally at loss, I studied the boy in front of me.

-Are you sure you are not drunk? - I asked, speaking as one would to a child who wanted to hear a fairy tale before going to sleep. Yet he looked so serious, so determined to receive it.

Sparks in his gaze.

-Come here- I pulled him down by the collar, pressing several quick pecks on his rosy mouth, and then a last one, longer than the previous ones. His smile between my lips, in my kisses.

-Now go inside... -

And this time he left with a toothy smile, hard to ignore, hard to miss when it shone like a lighthouse, like that dazzling candle I was afraid to blow out.
