Friday, September 1st 2023 - Arles, France (Provence Region)
It was the end of their first shooting week in France and it was been a very successful one. Florence Pugh and Sebastian had an amazing on-screen chemistry and they were both outstanding actors, so they didn't need many takes to get the scenes done. Thankfully Marvel hadn't planned to make a love story of the two main characters of the movie. Something Y/N - still plagued with hormonal chaos - was very thankful of as she wasn't sure if her jealousy would stand seeing that.

The fandom had discussed about a potential 'new WinterWidow' storyline from the point where the members of the Thunderbolts had been presented to the world. But Kevin Feige together with the writers, directors and actors decided that they wouldn't bring that story up now. In the comics Bucky was married to Yelena's sister Natasha and obviously the MCU never included that in their movies. Now after the death of the original Black Widow nobody wanted to have a 'Plan B WinterWidow storyline' just because they haven't included that fan-loved-plot into their movies yet.

Sebastian and Florence where 100% okay with that decision as they wanted the movie to focus on the development of their characters from former villains to heroes. A love story would just distract from the main plot. That was exactly the reason why the potential flirt / love story between Bucky and Sam's sister Sarah was cut out of 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' although that storyline and script was already written. 

Today they finished their scene before lunch and director Jake Schreier decided that they would have the afternoon and weekend off to discover the beautiful area around them. 

They were staying in the city of Arles that was located in the south of France and it was the perfect area to shoot as they just had a few kilometers until the coast but also beautiful vineyards and wide areas with fields. The city itself had beautiful ancient architecture and even a colosseum / amphitheater that looks like the one in Rome. On the other hand the city was not as big Nizza or Marseille - making it easier to get allowance for closing streets for the production.
