Not long after, the door swung open.
"Hey, Jendeuki!" Oh, it's Irene. I mistook her for Ms. Jessi.
"Did Professor Song keep you in class for an extra 15 minutes again?" I inquired, although I already knew the answer.
"As usual, what else is new? He always insists on extending his classes by 15 minutes," Irene replied, taking a seat beside me.
The door opened once again, prompting us to turn our heads in that direction.
"Hello, girls, you're all here now," Ms. Jessi announced.
My eyes widened as I spotted Lisa and her friend, Jisoo. I felt Irene nudging me, but I chose to ignore it.
They made their way to the seats across from us, bowing their heads before settling down. I offered them a smile.
Why are they always so serious? The only time I saw them smile was when Chaeyoung introduced them to us, and even then, it was just a small smile. Is it difficult for them to smile?
"Stop staring before they catch you," Irene whispered, a smirk playing on her lips.
"Oh, come on, I'm just curious about them too," I whispered back, but she interrupted me.
"Curious my ass. Just admit you're interested in them, or maybe just in Lisa," she teased, earning a glare from me.
I'M NOT INTERESTED.
How could she suggest that I'm interested in that stoic figure who doesn't even know how to smile? I chose not to respond to her further.
"I guess you two are done whispering to each other," Ms. Jessi remarked, prompting me to elbow Irene—it was her fault.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Jessi, we were just discussing some business lessons," Irene quickly apologized.
Business lessons, my ass.
"Alright, now Jennie, Irene, Lisa, and Jisoo, you will all be on the same party list!" Ms. Jessi announced cheerfully.
"Oh, so you're running too? It's great that we'll be on the same party list," Irene commented. I suspected she was the one interested in them, not me.
"We're excited to be on the same party list as you, Ms. Bae and Ms. Kim," Jisoo added, her expression still serious.
"Ugh, you're being too formal, just call us by our first names," Irene interjected, smiling like an idiot.
"Furthermore, Lisa will be running for the president position, and Jennie here will be your vice president," Ms. Jessi pointed at me.
Wow, she's the one running for president? But she's just new here.
"I understand that you may be confused, Jennie and Irene. However, Lisa met all the requirements and conditions for running for president, despite being a new student here at YGIU. She presented an excellent resume and completed the necessary paperwork for the University to approve her candidacy. Rest assured, she is eligible for the position, and the University has granted her this opportunity," Ms. Jessi clarified to us. We nodded in understanding.
