Although I was born in South Korea, I've always felt a strong connection to Hangzhou. It's where Yoo clan's roots are, after all. Even though I don't live here full-time, I make sure to visit my grandparents on my dad's side whenever I can. My squad and I sometimes take short vacations here too, especially after a long academic year. We typically spend the majority of our time in South Korea, where the rest of our family is based. However, we always carve out time to visit our other home countries. Usually, we stay for about 3 to 5 days in each location.

I flew over to celebrate my grandfather's birthday. Sadly, the squad couldn't make it with me. UCLA was already back in session after the long break, and their schedules were jammed packed. They couldn't even think about missing class. While I managed to get a two-day excuse from my classes, so I was able to make the trip solo.

It's already 6 pm, and the party is in full swing. The guest list is a mix of family, some of our closest family friends, loyal employees, and even a few investors from YooCare Health United, our family business.

Speaking of YooCare Health United, it's a legacy company, passed down through generations of our family. We have businesses in other sectors, but the Yoos are best known for our work in healthcare. Every generation has managed to keep YooCare at the top of the healthcare industry around the world. We've held that position for almost 52 years now. Even with all the competition, the Yoos still dominate the field.

I decided to slip away from the party. Now, I find myself at the back of our mansion, standing by the Pagoda next to the lake. The sky, painted in deep indigos and burning oranges, fades slowly into the velvety blue of the coming night. Wisps of purple clouds stretch across the horizon, reflecting on the water's surface like delicate brush strokes. A cool breeze drifts through the air, carrying the faint scent of blooming jasmine. The soft murmur of rippling water and the distant hum of crickets fill the silence, wrapping me in a rare moment of peace.

Inside the mansion, the atmosphere had become too overwhelming for me. It was supposed to be a fun party, but it ended up being a business meeting with some new investors. The moment the conversation wrapped up, I made my escape. I needed to step outside and catch my breath; it felt like I was being suffocated in there.
