It all started two weeks ago, the summer after we fought Gaea. Annabeth and I were making plans to move to New Rome after (barely) finishing high school, well, mostly it was Annabeth making plans while I practiced making earthquakes. I may or may not have accidentally almost knocked down Juniper's tree, but hey. Grover only tried to kill me for, oh, two weeks. In short, though, let's just say I need to find Rick Riordan and strangle him. Who in Hades thought it was a good idea to make a SUMMER CAMP FOR MORTALS based off of books written about my unfortunate existence?

"Percy?" Annabeth asked from her spot on my bed, reading through a packet of college information.

I yawned before answering. "What's up, Wise Girl?"

"Has Chiron talked to you yet?" No, actually he hadn't, because the Hunters had burned down the crafts pavilion. Plus, if he wanted to talk to me, it was probably something bad. Yippee.

"No," I said quietly, hoping she wouldn't hear me. But of course she did, so she spun around to face me, nearly dropping her papers.

"Percy! Ugh, let's go, then. Come on," she commanded, standing up lightly and yanking on my arm.

"Do I have to?"

"What do you think, Seaweed Brain?" she replied, pulling me to my feet. Of course, I couldn't resist her, because Annabeth is both my girlfriend and ridiculously strong.

"Fine," I mumbled, following her out of Cabin Three. We headed up to the Big House, which looked grayish under the storm clouds forming around camp. I opened the door for her and we headed in, finally finding Chiron in the living room, feeding Seymour the leopard Snausages. I swear that thing eats more than the entire camp combined.

"Hello, children," Chiron said, turning away from Seymour. "I assume you're here because Percy has been hiding out for some unfathomable reason?" Because anything is 'unfathomable' to the immortal trainer of heroes. Totally, Chiron. I nodded and sat down on an empty couch, snagging a bag of M&Ms from the table. Annabeth held out her hand and I dutifully poured some out for her before picking out all the blue ones.

"So, Percy, how do you feel about summer camp?" Chiron questioned as he turned his wheelchair to face us, since his horse form didn't really fit in here.

"Um, summer camp's cool, I guess, I mean, CHB is," I responded absently.

"Mortal camp, Percy," Annabeth interjected. "You know, macaroni necklaces and kickball games?"

I didn't know, but I nodded anyway.

"I guess they're okay, why, Chiron?" His eyes gleamed and I felt a sudden urge to, oh, I don't know, run away from the crazy horse?

"Good, then. I thought you two could use a break before college, so I signed you up for Camp Half-Blood, in Austin, Texas." I groaned.

"Another camp that wants to wage war on us? I want to keep my memory this time!" I complained. Annabeth smacked my arm, and trust me, there's times when I regret not having my Achilles Curse. That was one of them.

Chiron chuckled. "No, it's a camp for mortal children based on the real Camp Half Blood here in New York. A clear sighted mortal author named Rick Riordan somehow found out about us- well, mostly you- and wrote ten books on the last six years of your life. They're really quite interesting, although your little Sea of Monsters adventure warranted some form of punishment."

"So this is it?" I questioned. Mortal camp? Seriously? MORTAL camp?

"No, no. This little vacation is just that, a vacation. You'll have fun, I promise! It's just two weeks."
