the rain falls down my window. i lay my hand against it. it's so cold. i wipe the coldness against my tears. i don't know the last time i slept was. it was definitely a few days ago, because ashley was here. 

i smell awful. but i can't make myself move from my spot. i haven't worked in months. but i can't look anywhere else.

i just see him. 

and the way he held me. the way he kissed me. the way he lied to me.

a car pulls up to the trailer next to me. a guy gets out of the car, holding onto a girl seconds later.

he kisses the girl, and then they go inside the house.

i've never noticed them before.

it's dark outside now. my face is against the window and the street lights have come on. i watch as my neighbor is fighting with the girl he was holding. their screams shake me to my core. i cover my ears and lean against the window. they're so loud it hurts.

i wish they would shut up.
