3rd person POV:
______________________"Russo, this is gonna be awesome!" DJ spoke very excitedly.
"I know right! Hopefully there'll be some hot chicks!" Russo teased, "You definitely need them, o DJ..."
DJ's mouth dropped, "What?! Don't single me out! We're both single!" His slight anger at Russo fumed.
"Eh, that's fair," Russo said with a saddened tone as he hopped in the driver's side of the car.
"Mhm! Told ya!" DJ smirked back, sliding into the passenger seat.
As they drove, they spoke of many things amongst themselves. The ride seemed to pass very quickly with all the talking that was commencing between the best friends. Once they pulled into the beach parking lot, they immediately spotted a pale girl who was alone on the sandy shores.
"Russo, who's that?" DJ asked his blue haired friend, nudging him with his elbow.
"I don't have a clue, but she's amazing," Russo gawked at her. Unknowing of the two boys existence, the girl spun around and smiled at them. She walked towards them, smiling the entire way. Purple hair bounced along as she made her way over to them.
"Hey, how are you?" She asked with a voice filled with gold.
DJ couldn't make out real words, but Russo formed a sentence. "Good, how are you this fine evening?"
"Im doing good! Oh sorry, I completely forgot to mention my name! I'm Sabrina," The girl whose name was now Sabrina mentioned.
DJ finally got the courage to speak, "O-oh, that's really p-pretty! I'm, uh, DJ!, and this is Anthony," he said, but Russo corrected him.
"But I go by Russo most of the time," Sabrina smiled at the boys and then a shout sounded from behind her.
"SABRINA! GET OVER HERE!" A male voice yelled.
The boys shared a look of worry, what if she already had a boyfriend? "ONE SECOND!" Sabrina yelled back.
She turned back to the friends, "Hey, I have to go in a minute, can I get your numbers? You both seem really cool!"
Russo quickly gave her his own number, while DJ's face was as red as a fresh watermelon. "DJ...? Give her your number," Russo nudged him, and DJ snapped out of his trance.
"Oh, sorry!" He laughed, and the others joined in with his giggles. He read off his number to Sabrina as she typed it into her own phone.
"There we go!" She exclaimed, "I have to go, it was really nice meeting the both of you!" She ran off waving, DJ and Russo waving back at her.
"Woah..." Russo gasped, "She's amazing!"
"True. That." DJ stated. There was no way he would attract the attention of someone like Sabrina by never talking and stuttering like he was today.
"Also, DJ, I need to give you lessons on talking to people who are attractive girls." Russo said rolling his eyes.
"Shut up, Russo!" DJ spoke fiercely elbowing his taller friend's side.
"Ouch!" Russo exclaimed while grimacing.
"That's what you get for making fun of me!" DJ remarked, as they started walking further towards the edge of the water. They edged even closer to the end of the sand and dipped their feet in it. The sudden cold shivered up their spinal cords.
"Woah! It's really chilly!" Russo exclaimed, both startled as well as slightly relieved of the hot Summer temperature.
"Yeah, but it feels good against this extreme heat!" DJ told Russo, who agreed very quickly. They went further into the water, around waist level, and they splashed each other with much intensity. Soft speaking was heard behind their childish playing, and as they turned around to look for the speakers, it stopped. Two women, one tall and blonde and the other at an average height and a brunette stood behind them and criticized their behavior.
"Meg, they're looking at us, be quiet!" The blonde girl scolded the brunette, whose name was apparently Meg.
"Hey! What's wrong? Like whatcha see?" Russo started off by interrogating the girls, but ended with trying to seduce them.
"Russo, just stop," DJ told him, unimpressed of how his friend was acting towards the girls.
"What? You were the one who was talking about how we were single! Two candidates are right in front of us!" Russo smirked at the spiked green haired man that stood next to him in the water still.
While the boys were continuing their bickering, the girls walked off and found some other men to snicker at and make fun of. "Wait, where did they go?" Russo asked DJ.
"I don't know! They have a will to move around, we don't have to know where they are all the time!" DJ spoke in Russo's direction, unaware at the attention that was being brought to them.
"Shh!" Russo elbowed his shoulder and placed a finger over his mouth as a signal to shut up.
DJ realized what he meant as they finished their fun in the sun and strolled towards the sandy shores again. The two found a nice place on the beach to sit and suntan for a little while.
DJ's bathing suit shorts that were a neon shade of green were unnoticeable compared to Russo's royal blue shorts that were coated in glitter and sequins everywhere. The two for many looks from everyone there, mostly from Russo's iridescence, but also because of DJ's oddly colored shorts.
After around 10 minutes of them laying there, they realized that their phones beside them were buzzing. Russo picked up his phone and noticed a notification from his messages app that read "Unknown Number". He shrugged then clicked on the pop up, taking him to the messenger app on his iPhone.Saturday August 13th 3:15 PM
(xxx)-xxx-xxxx: Hello!
(xxx)-xxx-xxxx: Is this the Russo guy from the beach?
Saturday August 13th 4:08 PM
(xxx)-xxx-xxxx: Are you busy? Sorry I had to go so suddenly, my dad and I had to get somewhere right after! When you get a chance, tell DJ to text me back, too, please!"Look, DJ! Sabrina texted me!" Russo exclaimed, shoving his phone in DJ's direction. DJ then picked up his phone and gasped.
"She texted me, too!" The excitement from the two boys forced their fingers to type a response to Sabrina's messages. The majority of their beach trip was texting their newfound friend and crush, but it was still incredibly fun.
When their texting came to a stop, they picked up their towels and had a nice, leisurely stroll to the parking lot where their crimson SUV sat where they had left it hours before. They climbed in and spoke about their experience at the beach, and meeting Sabrina for the majority of the drive.
Once they returned to their apartment they shared, they unpacked all their beach bags and ran to their separate rooms to continue their texts with Sabrina.
Saturday August 13th 5:01 PM
DJ: Hey, sorry I didn't talk much at the beach!
Sabrina: No worries! How are you?
DJ: Good! How are you doing?
Sabrina: Pretty bored, right now I'm at the grocery store with my dad, so it's a lot of walking :/.
DJ: Oh, I'm sorry :( that really sucks. Especially being there with your parents!
Sabrina: Yep, tell me about it :,)
DJ: Wait, I hear Russo calling for me, I'll brb!
Sabrina: Have fun!
"DJ! Hurry up!" Russo called from his room.
"Why? I'm texting Sabrina!" DJ groaned.
"There's something I need to tell you! It's really important, and it might change our entire relationship!" Russo yelled in a worried tone.
"Ok, ok! I'm coming!" DJ spoke as he lifted his body from his bed, and pulled on a T-shirt rather than being shirtless. He walked across the hall to Russo's room and Russo was sitting on his bed, patting a spot on it beside him for him to sit.
DJ began to sit down as Russo started talking, "So... uhm... I..." he started, but couldn't finish until later, "I think I like Sabrina!"
