Chapter Fifty Eight

She opened her mouth to speak but she couldn't. The demons dropped her mom beside Devon, and her eyes met Devon's.

"Something's wrong with her master", one of the demons said pulling Zethar's attention to Kira who was hanging on to present by a thread.

Zethar cursed under his breath, and grabbing Kira's mother with his super human speed, he teleported in front of Kira.

Her barely open eyes met his, and her lips were moving but Zethar couldn't hear her words even with his powerful hearing. He had to act now.

He held the woman steadily by the waist with one arm, and tilted her neck to the side with the other. Baring her veins to him.

Kira's lips moved again, as his fangs shot out and his eyes went dark.

"Have you ever wondered what happens to hunters when infected with vampire venom ?", Zethar asked her.

Devon yelled, " Zethar no !!".

The demons kicked him so hard on the head, and chest, he couldn't breathe.

Kira's eyes were still barely open, but at least she wasn't out.

"Do you know my precious ?", He asked moving his fangs to the woman's neck. He teased her skin, and she made the first sound since he had been brought here. A whimper.

Rya's heart was pounding hard in her chest. She couldn't explain why this was affecting her so much. It wasn't her mother, it wasn't her business. But she could imagine her mother at the moment, helpless just like Kira's mother. She imagined herself not able to do anything about it like Kira.

A hunter infected with vampire venom not only dies from it, but they become beasts with no type of memory of who there are, or were. They become hungry for blood. They were dangerous. And it was the worst way for any hunter to end.

Zethar's fangs pierced her mother's skin. He held her gaze. Her body was slowly fighting the gethum again, and she was slowly starting to understand what was really happening.

"Let my mother go", she said feebly.

He smirked, "Make me healer".

Healer ... She couldn't even feel her powers at all.

"I suggest you just kill the woman Zethar, maybe that will wake her powers", a council member said evoking the same type of comments from the others.

Kira was beginning to feel parts of her body again, and Zethar shot her a smile.

"I might just do that", Zethar said, jerking his head back slightly, he was about to bite Kira's mother when all of a sudden he was flung across the room with a force that was impossible to fight.

Kira's mother fell to the ground, and the whole place went into a frenzy.

Zethar groaned as he got himself up, already knowing who it was.

Rya immediately moved to Kira's mother as soon as she flung Zethar across the room. She effortlessly killed the vampires that tried to get in her way.

She grabbed the woman, stared into Kira's eyes and promised, "She'll be safe ".

Her eyes went to Devon, and Zethar with a growl that shook the entire place moved with faster than lightening to Rya.

She let out a sigh, when she did the only thing she could do for Devon. She had already killed the demons that were in charge of him. She teleported immediately Zethar got closer, with Kira's mother.

Zethar growled. His anger was felt throughout the entire room. His eyes were darker than night, his fangs on full display.

"Find her !", He roared at everyone. Looking around in fury, at the bodies of his dead subjects. He knew Rya was powerful, but how could one creature cause this much damage in barely a minute.

He roared.

Vampires and demons sped out the door.

He moved to Kira, and wrapped his hand around her throat. She gasped, and struggled for air.

"I've had enough of your stupidity. I'm going to give you one last chance. Unlock your goddamn powers, and free Zalas or you wouldn't like what I would do next", he threatened squeezing harder on her neck.

As he kept cutting off her air supply, she could finally feel her arms and legs. She struggled against the chains, and Zethar laughed.

"So this is what it takes for you to stop being pathetic", he spat.

She kept jerking her body, her eyes taking their golden color again. The ground shook, and Zethar smiled triumphantly. Finally !

Devon scrambled to his feet, carefully removing most of the gethum from his body. Rya had unlocked his chains, before she teleported. He wondered what made her change her mind.

His eyes moved to Zethar, and before he could think of what he was doing, he made his way to him, and collided his body with his effectively moving him away from Kira. They landed on the ground.

Kira began gasping for breath, as Devon staggered to his feet.

Zethar's eyes were filled with rage, as they locked with his.
"You fool !", He growled, and moving to him in the speed of light, he collided his fist with his jaw with a force that sent his body flying.
