CHAPTER 8

Several bullets flew out of the gun and shot into the man in all black. You watched as he fell forward into the ground, body unmoving and limp. Behind him was the tagger. There was smoke coming out of his gun from when the bullets were shot. The other man stood still in fear, only violently shaking. It seemed that he finally woke up to his senses when he turned and ran down the hallway, screaming. However, he made a wrong turn. Since he was on the bottom floor, the turn that he made led him out of the game boundaries. A laser shot out of the sky and burned through his skull, effectively killing him and making him no longer a part of the game. You watched his dead body roll down the stairs before reaching the bare Earth.

"That's three dead bodies at least." Chishiya commented.

You watched as everyone scurried around the apartment like mice. "Yeah, at least."

He pointed to the second floor. "There's the tagger."

Moving your eyes down to the 2nd floor, you noticed two girls running away from the horse headed man. They were friends from what you were able to observe a while back. You watched both of them run away while the tagger only walked towards them, holding a gun in his hand. One of the girls tripped and fell, her friend stopped running to try to help, but was quickly shot to death. You could hear the other friend curse at the killer as the killer reloaded his gun. A show flew at the horse headed man, but the pitiful attempt to stop him was in vain. As soon as the girl stood up and turned her back to run, the tagger shot several bullets and she fell to the ground.

Loud footsteps echoed through the apartment complex. . Surprisingly, they came from Arisu.

"Everyone! He's up here! Over here, he's on the second level! He can't see properly because of his mask! Tell us where he is if you see him, and let's all look for a symbol!" The messy haired male shouted for everyone to hear.

"That's a good idea, but nobody wants to help." Chishiya thought aloud.

However, not even a minute later, a female's voice spoke up. "He's in the fourth-level hallway in the central building. Anyone there should get out!"

The male's eyes slightly widened in surprise. "Really?"

"Guess you were proven wrong then." You smirked at him.

Turning back to the female who announced it, you watched intently as she ran from the tagger following behind her. An older woman in front of her stopped her from continuing down the hall.

The short haired girl ordered the woman to leave. "Hurry, get out of here!"

"What?" The older woman wasn't able to process what she said.

You heard a quick apology leave the young girl's mouth. Then she leapt off the edge and swung on the pole, leaving the poor woman to face the tagger alone.

The person who wore the horse mask overkilled the woman with the amount of bullets that he used.

As the girl in the jacket climbed up the pole, the tagger tried to shoot upwards and hit her. You are honestly surprised at how he'd missed.

"She's so cool, what the hell?" You watched her disappear onto the floor above.

Chishiya didn't think too much of it. He didn't seem to care for her much at all, even less what she was capable of.

"The game is over in eight minutes. There are currently seven survivors."

Gunshots again. This time, the horse head masked man was shooting for the newbie. He ducked in panic and barely dodged the bullets that would've killed him. The tagger rapidly fired, almost as if he had endless bullets.

Sighing, you pulled out your phone and checked the remaining time that you had in the game. There was about 7 minutes left.

Since you knew where the room was, you started leaving your friend's side, only to be stopped by him grabbing onto your arm and pulling you back. He didn't want you to leave his line of sight in case anything happened; he needed to protect you.

"We need to go, Chishiya, we need to end the game."

It was hard saying no to you when you were like this, so he was only able to give in. "Fine. Let's go."

You headed towards the elevator. "4th floor right?"

He pulled off his hood and gave you a surprised expression. "Well then I guess we are both on the same page."
