Breaking my back over here and not the good kind.

I smile before going back to my phone. I probably shouldn't be listening to this stuff but it's kind of interesting. Especially, hearing Jaxon talk all boss man and stuff.

"Why are you telling me this if don't know the fucking plan?" Jaxon says, angrily.

"I just think people should be aware and you should double up on security. He might be coming for you." Raphel says, like it's a warning, making me widen my eyes slightly.

If Jaxon makes people stay inside the house, they can hear us. We aren't shy about noises or places and it's a daily appearance We've already had sex in the living room.

Apparently, Logan and Kane are staying somewhere else for the time being. Something about them not knowing what personal space is and they also come home covered in blood and Jaxon doesn't want me seeing that stuff.

Jaxon stares at the table for a moment before nodding curtly and standing. "Make sure all runs are successful." He says as I stand. He puts his hands on my hips before pushing me towards the door.

I look around as he leads us to wherever he's going. I don't know what I was expecting but it certainly wasn't this. On the outside it looks like a bunch of cement walls but on the inside it looks like the inside of a beautiful building.

I gasp when something runs into my legs.

I look down seeing a small little girl with bright blue eyes and blonde, crazy, curly hair, watching as she giggles and wraps herself around one of my legs.

Who brings a kid to this place?

I couldn't help but smile and pull her gently off my leg so I can crouch down in front of her.

"Hello." I say, kindly.

"Hi." She giggles, blushing from the attention.

"What's your name?" I smile when she grabs my hand but her small hand can't hold my properly so she holds my index finger.

"I'm Aria, what's your name?"

"I'm Karlie. You have a very pretty name, Aria." I compliment, making her giggle.

"Thank you, my daddy says that it means song in i-italy." She says, excitedly. I think she meant Italian but that was way cuter.

I smile and nod.

"I'm 4!" She exclaims, holding up five fingers.

I laugh before tucking her thumb into her palm. "There you go." I say, softly. "Where's your daddy?" I ask, looking around, only to see Jaxon staring at us with a small smile. I nearly roll my eyes from the cliche of this.

"Um, I don't know." She says, shrugging. She doesn't bother looking around, she keeps her eyes set on me.

"Alright." I sigh while standing, looking at
Jaxon for help.

His small smile remains on his face as he rolls his eyes and nods down the hallway, pushing off of the wall.

"Come here, honey." I say, holding my hands out as she left her arms. I pick her up and place her on hip before following Jaxon down the hallway.

"Whose kid is this?"

I mentally face palmed from his words. Why did he have to say it like that? He can be so insensitive sometimes.

Everyone looks up before shrugging it shaking their head before going back to cleaning their guns.

So helpful.

"Do you know your daddy's name?" I ask, giving her a smile.

"Yes! It's daddy!" She exclaims, bouncing on my hip.

I laugh slightly as Jaxon comes to my side, pressing his body against my curved back from holding the child as if to hold support.

Aria gets quiet and puts her head in my neck as her arms wrap around my neck, holding tightly.

I furrow my eyebrows at the reaction.

Oh, she's scared of Jaxon.

I guess, he is pretty intimidating. It's probably not helping that he's staring right at us but he's probably just thinking.

"Don't be scared of him." I whisper, pushing her higher on my hip. "He's like a teddy bear." I whisper into her ear, smiling when she giggles quietly before raising her head slightly.

"H-hi, mister." She whispers, looking at him.

He stares at the child with furrowed eyebrows and lips puckered slightly. I have to nudge him so that he would respond.

"Hi."

I purse my lips at him before shaking my head. I almost laugh at him. He looks almost terrified of this small thing on my hip. It's hilarious.

"Aria?!"

I turn to the frantic voice, seeing a older, male version of Aria, rushing towards us. Curly blonde hair and bright blue eyes with wrinkles on his forehead and near his eyes.

I place her down so she could go to him and watch as he scoops her up, scolding her lightly about running away when he was working.

"Thank you so much. I don't normally bring her here but the babysitter canceled last minute." He huff, looking at me before looking at Jaxon, widening his eyes and turning his head down.

"Don."

I watch carefully as Jaxon glares at the man, most likely angry at the fact that he brought a literal kid here because this environment isn't safe for kids to be running around.

This time I'm the one pinching his side, making him turn his glare to me as I give him one of my own. I thought that would work, it doesn't take much too pinch someone. So why didn't he flinch or jump?

I narrow my eyes as a warning before turning back to the man with a smile.

"It's no worries," I say, hearing Jaxon scoff quietly, "keep a good eye on her, this is a dangerous place for a kid."

The man widens his eyes, looks between Jaxon and I before nodding quickly and apologizing once more, then hurrying away.

"You're ridiculous." I tell Jaxon with a shake of My head.
