We were back in town. Spent the rest of the journey on the train being quiet. It is not like I had much left to say to him anyway.

"Let me just buy a drink. There's a vending machine there" I told Matt.

"No problem. Uh- Meet me outside. I need to get some fresh air" he said trying to play cool, but I noticed he clearly heard something odd and was looking for whatever it was.

I got the drink as fast as I could as I was way too curious to know what was up with him. The machine was not cooperating though.

"Come on" I said to myself punching the machine in a dumb hope to make it work better and faster.

Finally got my orange juice and looked out for Matt. I wasn't finding him anywhere until I heard a female voice saying his name. I got closer, but not too close. Just enough to make sure Matt wouldn't notice me around.

There he was standing next to a wall with this woman pretty much laying all over him. She had one hand pressing against the wall next to his face and the other one on his chest. I wasn't able to hear them, but I assumed they knew each other for a long time since they were so physically close.

My heart was racing faster as I kept seeing her getting closer to him. Felt like I was about to lose my mind, but I tried to handle the situation. Until I was not able to handle it anymore. The woman quickly kissed his lips as if she belonged there. I gasped which clearly got Matt's attention making him push her away.

"Ava!" he yelled at me.

"It's fine, do your thing" I answered before leaving the train station quickly.

"Wait, please"

"See you in court, Matt" I said while waving at a taxi, making it stop and heading back home alone.

None of that was hurting me in any way until it finally hit me on the inside once I got back home. That was when I started crying and wondering why it was happening to me. I couldn't understand why the person I believed to be my soulmate was- Can't even call it cheating. Not sure what to call it.

"Guess you didn't cheat, but you're still a traitor" Olivia Rodrigo's song played on my laptop. I have the bad habit to listen to sad songs when I'm feeling down. It only makes me feel worse, but it still comforts me somehow.

Foggy called me later in the evening. He needed to make me some questions for the trial we were having on the next day. I knew Matt was with him as they both had to prepare it together. I told Foggy to meet me in my apartment. Alone. They understood the assignment, Matt did not show up there.

"Hey, Ava"

"Hi Foggy, come in" I said letting him get into my apartment.

"I would like to apologise for everything I said at the hospital. Like Matt said, I wasn't thinking straight. None of that was your fault and you definitely did not deserve to be treated that way. I'm truly sorry"

"It's okay. Nobody would be okay in that situation. I tried to seem fine for the sake of looking brave and giving Sarah some strength to carry on, but- I guess I wasn't helping the right way"

"You're a great friend, Ava. You did everything you could. May I ask you what happened between you and Matt? You told me to come here alone, but- He didn't even show up at the office. I haven't seen him today"

"Of course he didn't"

"Did something happen? You seemed to be so close to each other already. I saw the way he looked at you and the things he'd tell me-"

"We were way too close"

"I was so surprised you knew his secret, he doesn't tell everyone, you know? You must be special"
