Jin looked down at the peaceful figure in his lap, his fingers still idly weaving through Jungkook's hair, gently massaging his scalp in a rhythm that mirrored the tranquility of the moment. He tilted his head, his gaze softening as he observed Jungkook's sleeping face, half-hidden by the tousled strands of his dark, messy hair. Among the chaos of locks, his eyebrow piercing peeked out, a quiet defiance against the calm.
A fond smile tugged at Jin's lips as his eyes drifted to Jungkook's slightly parted lips, the very ones that had been haunting him since the moment their eyes first met.
Leaning his head back, Jin closed his eyes, his thoughts swirling in a quiet storm. What's happening to me? he wondered, his heart betraying him with its erratic beats. Is this love?
He opened his eyes and glanced down at Jungkook once more, his gaze soft but filled with a mixture of wonder and uncertainty. I know you're the cause of all this, he thought, his heart tightening with a strange, bittersweet feeling. You've changed me, but I'm not sure if it's for the better... or for the worse.
Unable to find rest, Jin gently slipped from the couch, careful not to disturb Jungkook's peaceful slumber. He moved quietly, his footsteps soft as he approached the balcony door. With a gentle push, the door creaked open, and he stepped outside, the night air cool against his skin. The chill quickly seeped through his thin shirt, urging him to wrap his arms around himself for warmth.
His gaze drifted upwards, and there, to his left, the almost full moon hung in the sky, a luminous orb casting its silvery glow over the world below. Jin stood still, lost in the quiet beauty of the moment, the moon's soft light reflecting the turmoil in his heart.
Jin watched as dark clouds drifted across the sky, momentarily obscuring the moon, making it appear more enigmatic. He exhaled a deep breath, a chuckle escaping his lips. "How dramatic," he muttered, then paused, realizing, "Just like my life."
His thoughts began to swirl. His life was changing, but was it for the better or worse? What exactly were Jungkook and the others? Why could their eyes change color, and what about their powers? Why wasn't he afraid of them? And most of all, why was he changing?
Frustration welled up inside him, his mind racing with unanswered questions, but no one to turn to for answers.
Jin watched as the clouds slowly drifted away, allowing the moon to reappear, its white light so bright it forced him to close his eyes, almost feeling the cold warmth of its glow against his skin.
He opened his eyes again, narrowing them as he glared at the celestial body, mocking, "Do you have any answers for me?" As the clouds obscured the moon once more, he sighed and scoffed. "Yep, that's what I thought. Not helpful at all."
Turning to go back inside, Jin suddenly stopped, a warmth surrounding him. He closed his eyes, letting the comforting heat spread across his skin. It was strange but reassuring, a sense of safety washing over him, almost as if it was urging him to seek the answers he so desperately longed for.
Jungkook woke with a start, his immediate realization that Jin wasn't beside him sending a wave of confusion through him. He sat up, scanning the room, but Jin was nowhere in sight. His gaze landed on the balcony door, slightly ajar.
Rising from the couch, Jungkook made his way to the balcony, but suddenly stopped, his breath caught in his throat. Jin's body was bathed in an ethereal white light, glowing softly as if the moon itself had descended upon him. His hair had turned a radiant white, and his skin shimmered like delicate porcelain, the light of the moon reflecting in a way that made him appear almost otherworldly.
