"Ah, you're my pretty Siwoo. What are you doing here?" I giggled.
"Because my pretty girlfriend decided to get drunk," he raised an eyebrow.
"Who's drunk? I'm not...I'm fit as a fiddle...hehe."
"Oh sure..." he rolled his eyes.
I stuck my tongue out, "I'll prove it~"
I wiggled out of his grasp, confidently standing up straight without his help. I took a step forward then another and then I stumbled to the side and lost my balance.
"Wee!" I squealed as I plummeted to the ground.
But instead of meeting the cold hard ground, a firm hand grabbed my arm. The weight of my body felt like lead as I leaned back on him, making him stumble back too.
"Hehe, this is a fun ride," I grinned.
He sighed, softly chuckling as he shook his head, "Okay love, you've had your fun. Let's try and sober you up, hmm?"
He bent down, urging me to get on his back.
I giggled again, happily jumping onto his back. His hands hooked right under my thigh as he bounced me to get the best grip.
"Hehe, this is so fun," I grinned, nuzzling my face into his neck.
We sauntered around the area for a bit, the cool night air hitting me right in the face. The biting cold washed away at my drunkenness slowly but surely as I came back to my senses.
In the absence of the warm fuzzy feeling was a reeling mind and a bit of disorientation. I was tired.
Siwoo found a bench for us to sit at, gently letting me off and sitting me beside him. He put an arm around me, enveloping me with his warmth in the face of the cold.
"So, do you want to tell me why you were drinking so much? You told me that you have a big presentation tomorrow, so there has to be something pretty important that would have you doing this the night before a big presentation," he inquired, his voice gentle and non-judgmental.
I looked up at the night sky with lidded eyes, my mind not completely free from its haze.
"Sieunnie hates my guts. She thinks our friendship is as precious as dirt. She doesn't believe that I love her as a friend as much as I love you romantically," I rambled. "And then there's Ha-min who's weaseled his way back into my life. He's trying to undermine me and undermine our relationship. Nothing good and happy has come out of us being together. So I wanted to be happy."
Siwoo listened earnestly, but a small frown formed on his lips, "You haven't been happy since we got together?"
I looked at him, my lips pressed into a thin line, "I have. I think. I really like you. And I find myself wanting you near whenever you're not. I was really messed up the day you didn't come to see me after work. You're my everyday."
"But?"
"But it seems that us getting together has forced the universe to try and break us apart. Your sister was my best friend forever, and she doesn't approve of us. And my ex is somehow back in my life trying to do everything in his power to ruin my happiness," I said.
He pressed his forehead against mine.
"Woah," I said, feeling a little dizzy.
"Stay over at my place tonight? I don't think you should be alone tonight," he offered.
"Mm..." I hummed. I nodded sleepily, unable to find a reason to argue or protest.
He smiled softly, getting up and reaching a hand out to me.
"And for what it's worth, I don't really think the opinions of others deserve to have any weight in our private life. In your private life. You're an adult who can think rationally for herself. If the choices you make benefit you and your happiness, then no one else has a right to comment on it. My sister was out of line and that jerk Ha-min, well let's just hope we never meet again. As long as you find happiness and gratification out of the choices you make, then that's all that should matter. You're living for you. Not to please anyone else. And no matter what, I'll be by your side. Even if the whole world turns against us, I'll be right here to fend it off. Because I don't need anything else as long as I have you."
I looked at him for a long moment, his gaze unreadable. His eyes held love but it held concern and worry for the future.
In my slight drunkenness, I was able to smile genuinely.
"I love you, Kim Siwoo."
And then I took his hand as we began our journey back to his house.
_______________________________"Cut!"
We glanced back at Jungkook expectantly. He was deep in thought as he looked back over the footage. For an improv, I thought the two of us did great. But we had to appease him.
He turned back to us with a slight smile, "Well, I'm going to be honest, you both at some point recited a direct line from the script which I told you not to do."
That's so hard not to do. We already knew the script so of course it would be human nature to fall back on it.
"However, the way you weaved it into your improvisation was quite clever and fit very naturally with the scene. So I think we can call the scene there. Good work you two. Especially you, Konkuk," he gave an appraising smile before instructing everyone to pack up and head home for the night.
Hoseok proudly judged me while I shyly smiled to the floor. Hoseok hadn't let go of my hand yet from the scene, so I teasingly raised it up and waved it in his face.
"Are we going to walk into the sea of reporters like this?" I joked.
He had a bright twinkle in his eyes, "Maybe we should."
"And go against the boss' order, no thanks," I laughed, trying to pull away.
"Come on, love. What are you afraid of? He won't do anything really. He only said that to protect you. He won't drop you if you do," he tried to convince.
"But he also told me that it could endanger my career," I recalled.
"You know the line I gave during the scene wasn't just Siwoo talking to Iseul right?"
I laughed, "Yeah, I had a feeling. I'm not saying no, I'm just saying not yet. I like keeping us a nice little secret for only a select few to know. It makes it more special knowing that no one really knows what's going on between us and just how deep our feelings run."
"But how am I supposed to keep you away from all those swarming piranhas? Once you debut, everyone is going to fall in love with you," he pouted.
I chuckled, gently flicking his forehead, "I guess it's a good thing that I love you and not everyone else."
His mouth was wide in surprise as a bright blush popped up on his sweet cheeks. He couldn't formulate a proper thought as I merrily skipped around him.
Oh I got him good this time.
He broke into a wide grin, "You're a little troublemaker, you know that. Saying you don't want us being obvious in public and then getting me to be all mushy. You're a sneaky one."
I stuck my tongue out, teasing him as I subtly stepped away.
"Oh you're not getting away that easily," he said, moving closer like a predator to its prey.
"You'll have to catch me then," I said before taking off running into the night.
"Just don't get caught, I might not let you go if you do!" He called, chasing right after me with the night sky as a witness to our antics.
