Y/N didn't know where they were going, it seemed as if she was teleported into a dream by some unknown force. It was only when she finally crashed onto a thin mattress did she get snapped back to reality, she groaned in pain and annoyance as she raised her head, twisting it this way and that to find out where she was. Mono stood up, seemingly unfazed from just falling through a TV and onto the floor. If the convenient mattress wasn't there, the two children would have broken their ribs, or worse, Y/N shuddered at the thought and brushed herself off. Looking about to see where to go, however, it seemed Mono already had a plan sketched out in his head. He turned around and leaped at the bookshelf, only then did Y/N see the sloped second floor that was oh so conveniently just the height where they could climb the bookshelf and get on the...sofa chair? What was a sofa chair doing on top of a bookshelf? Y/N pondered this for a moment before realizing what was going on. She quickly followed Mono up to the second floor, his pace was quick and she nearly tripped trying to catch up. "Mono!" she finally yelled, this caught his attention and he slowed down just a bit so she could catch up. "Sorry, I'm just worried" he admitted before facing forward again. The two faced another TV, Y/N shuddered again as she stared at it. Tearing her gaze away from it, she glanced at Mono who seemed to be thinking the situation over. "We have to..." he finally said with a slight sigh. "Grab on and close your eyes again". Y/N shuffled over and hesitantly grabbed onto him again, scrunching her eyes closed to not see what Mono was seeing inside those TVs. The plummeting feeling returned, but only for a short moment before they crashed onto wood and the feeling of rain returned. Y/N picked herself up and shook herself off, looking up at the gray sky. The dusty gray clouds were heavy in the sky, clogging the air and making it seem as if the sun wasn't a thing. Turning her gaze away from the dreary sight, she looked at Mono who had been positioned by the door. He motioned at a crank in a dark corner, Y/N thought this over before allowing a smile. "Good idea!" she said over the noise of the downpour, then she rushed over and started moving the crank, moving the TV up to the next part of another building. Mono nodded and leaped at the door handle, falling as it collapsed. Y/N rolled her eyes at the slight clumsiness but followed him into the room and held on for dear life as they went through the TV again.
For some reason, it didn't seem as bad as the other two times they had done it. "I think I might be getting used to that" she admitted to Mono as they climbed the slightly slippery ladder after making it to the attached part of the building, "So am I" he called back as he scrambled over the edge of a hole in the building. "Be careful, we are getting closer and closer to the center of the city. This means-" Y/N cut him off, "More viewers. I know. Trust me, I've been here in this city for maybe too long". With that she set off, allowing him to take the lead after he thought about her answer. He leaped down to another attached part and walked across a single plank, balancing quite gracefully. Y/N was even smoother, she had done this quite a lot. She glided across the plank and kept moving, both of them pushing forward against the tough terrain and rain. She also was barely fazed when they moved onto slippery pipes, only slipping a little bit when it came to the turns. Mono didn't say anything about her movement, though he did pause sometimes to let her catch up from time to time, he was also having trouble with the turns too. Y/N blinked away raindrops, a little thankful when they came to a window leading inside a building. However, that thankfulness faded away when she saw another TV, this caused her to sigh. "This town loves TV huh?" she questioned out loud, a little surprised when Mono answered. "Love is an understatement. They are obsessed with them. Lost themselves to them and paid the highest price, their lives" he muttered the last part and kept moving. Y/N regretted asking the question and followed him down a nearby ladder, turning her head sideways she saw a black object that was like a tiny box, except its sides were slightly turned inward. "What's that?" she asked after leaping down to join him on the carpet. Mono stared at the thing in awe and wonder, turning it this way and that. "A remote.." he breathed, "these are used to control the TVs" he blinked and pushed the top red button on the 'remote'. The TV switched on, illuminating the rest of the room in a white light, Y/N stared at it in awe and went over. "We're going through?" she asked, already knowing the answer. Mono nodded and walked over, Y/N wrapped her arms around him and they went through the TV.
The journey through the TVs seemed like less of a hassle every time, and Y/N marveled at this newfound discovery. Mono suddenly grabbed her hand and tugged her along, going through a doorway to a...mailroom? Y/N blinked before grinning, yeah! It was a mailroom, she had seen them many times before. The city had tons posted in random areas. Except they weren't as big as this one, it was more or less a tiny shack with a window where people would probably get their mail from. Such a strange city. Mono took off for the light and swung on it, landing perfectly on the other side. Y/N followed quickly, despite her strides being shorter than his, she matched his speed and jumping reflexes almost perfectly. He nodded, Y/N thought he was probably smiling underneath his bag, and he probably was. Though, she would most likely never know. He grabbed her hand again and they walked into a small room with a chair. Y/N leaped onto the chair and leaped over the edge, this time taking the lead for a split second before dropping back. "Hey, Mono?" she asked, unsure if he would answer the question that had been stinging her like a needle for a while after they had left the slippery pipes behind. "Yes?" he called back, continuing walking quickly, though his pace eventually fell to a simple walk. Though he paused and looked back at her as they stood behind a giant hole in the floor. "Um- how did you and Six meet? You seemed surprisingly close, until you..." Y/N didn't finish her sentence, knowing full well he would know what she meant. He didn't reply for a second, staring at the wood beneath his feet. "I found her inside a madman's house. I rescued her and we were a team up until that moment" he seemed to distance himself from her, jumping down the hole far too quickly. Y/N watched as he pulled a cart with boxes on it into the middle of the hole, "I'm sorry for asking. You guys seemed like a pretty nice team, so I just wanted to know the lore behind it" she tried to smile, though it was pretty much fake. Mono simply nodded and leaped across the new path he had created, Y/N followed suit, catching up quickly. The two then made their way to the hole in the other wall, he leaped up onto some boxes and peered out before looking back. "You might wanna hang on for this one. But be careful, don't hit the ledge at twenty miles per hour" he warned and leaped at a small hanger, managing to stay there by standing on his tiptoes. Y/N leaped up and wrapped her arms around his neck, being careful to not accidentally decapitate him. With a low grunt, he let go of the floor and the two went zooming down the line, Y/N peered around his shoulder and squeaked in slight fear at the approaching window. Mono braced and Y/N braced for impact as well, she scrunched her eyes shut, hoping that no one would get seriously hurt.
Cliffhanger because this is getting too long. *Ahem* hope you enjoyed :)
