"Oh and by the way, the others are going to come over here soon they want to see how your doing," Shadow said while smiling a little, I just groaned- I'm not mad at the fact that my friends want to check up on me. It's the fact that I'm still tired and they're just going to bombard me with questions like "are you okay?", "what happen?", "Where were you" and stuff like that. But I do thank them for caring for him so I guess this is the least I can do.

Sonics pov.

After a long while of waiting the doorbell finally rung and I just sat back on the couch not wanting to get up and waited for them to come inside.

I soon a bunch of noises and I turned my head and saw Amy running up to me and hugging me tightly like she always does (which is going to kill me one day), after practically begging her to let go of me she finally let go and I was able to sit up straight and I saw Shadow laying on the wall with his eyes closed like he always does when other people are around.

I finally got the energy to stand up and I saw Tails looking at me and I ran up and hugged him and he hugged back. And when the hug ended, just like what I expected had happened.

"Sonic are you ok?" Amy asked with a concerned look on her face, I just smiled at her which made her blush a little, and said "I'm fine Ames don't worry about it" And soon Knuckles interrupted me and asked me the most annoying question to ever exist.

"Sonic, did shadow hurt you?" Knuckles said while cracking his knuckles (ironic isn't it?) I just chuckled while smiling and turning to knucks while saying "Don't worry knux, shadow actually helped me get better so there's no need for worrying about me! plus I can take care of myself you know?" Rouge barged into the conversation "I don't think you can hun, you had just gotten kidnaped by Eggman yesterday!" I growled lowly at His name and my ears folded to my head while frowning, I guess Rouge saw it and she immediately looked like she wish she could take back what she had said but before anything could get worse I just said that's its fine and I just don't like hearing his name after what he did to me.

I just continued to talk to my friends but every so often I would look at shadow to see how he was doing and he was still there laying on the wall with his arms crossed and eyes closed. But this time when I look to see how shadow was doing he was gone, I guess he went to his room, It's understandable. I just continue to talk to my friends and laugh at some of the funny jokes they had said.

I felt my chaos energy start to fade away all of a sudden and then that thought struck back into my head as if on command.

' Chaos energy '

I needed to find out why my chaos energy is acting like this, but I can't if some people are in my way not allowing me to do that, so I tried to finish up the conversations while trying not to sound rude, and surprisingly it worked and soon everyone was saying their goodbyes to me while I just waved and smiled, Amy was the last to go and she looked very nervous but I just hugged her and said that I was going to be okay and she just smiled back and said goodbye and I was about to close the door when Amy stopped me.

"Sonic, I don't trust shadow," Amy said while frowning but I just rolled my eyes. "Of course, you think that every time you see Shadow with me you always expect him to punch me in the face (which he used to do so I can understand why) but as a matter of fact, he hasn't been hurting me but actually taking care of me ever since he found me in that place yesterday. I understand how shadow could be mean at times but you just can't go forcing me to stay away from him." Amy rolled her eyes now showing an angry look on her face "Look sonic. I just care about your well being and I don't want you on my doorstep crying your heart out while talking about how shadow backstabbed you" Now this was getting annoying all everyone ever did was talk smack about shadow have they ever even tried to get on his good side? "Well, Amy Im not going to be at your house sobbing over nothing no time soon and since all you do is talk smack about shadow then how about you tell it to his face? let's see how rude you'll get then" I slammed the door shut while groaning loudly from that drama I just had.

I know Amy is just using this as a cover-up to get me and shadow away from each other so she could spend more time with me and get closer to me and become my girlfriend I'm not dumb. Speaking of Shadow I got to ask him about this chaos energy, hope he knows sum about it.

I walked to shadows room to ask him about this since he does use chaos energy a lot unlike me but when I knocked I didn't hear anything, not even a groan or "come in" I knock again just to make sure before creaking the door open thinking shadow was just sleep but he wasn't, in fact, he was gone. I sighed while walking back to the door to find him, I put my shoes on and open the door, and closed it since I didn't have a key I could lock it so the best thing I could do was just hope nobody would break into shadows house while I'm gone or else him (and Rouge) would kill me.

I started my adventure to find shadow but the only thing that kept me occupied other than feeling the breeze through my quills while running was that one thought that kept replaying over my head again and again.

' Chaos energy '

Is that why my energy faded? was it because shadow left? but how though, I stopped in my tracks when an answer (and thought) popped into my head.

Did me and shadow's chaos energy.....combine? I mean it's possible but that's only when....

Tails sat at his computer desk while typing in some random number which confused the older brother, Sonic as he knows nothing about computer tech but stood there wondering what his little brother had wanted to show him now. After a while of Tails doing his magic on his computer he moved his mouse and right clicked and soon a popup appeared it showed a bar with tiny numbers and dots and stuff every data table shows but instead at the top it had in big bold letters CHAOS ENERGY: SONIC THE HEDGEHOG Sonic looked pretty amazed at what his little brother could do but it still didn't answer his question on why he's here so he that's what he asked. "Hey tails, I know this is about my energy and all but why am I here? no offense" Tails just chuckled while saying "None taken" and hopped off his chair while explaining to sonic what it was. Eventually sonic would daze off from all the words Tails blabbered at him and couldn't recognize but his ear twitched at the word "connect" for some odd reason and made him focus back on what his little brother was saying.

" - And who knows? maybe one day when you find that special 'someone' your energies will connect and will be inseparable".

"Hold up," sonic raised his hands in front of his face while slowly saying, "You said 'special someone' and 'inseparable' what do you mean? and how will that be inseparable? Sonic looked at Tails with a face that looked like he was begging for answers. Sonic wasn't really the type to be interested in romance (which was why he would always run away from Amy) and wasn't really looking for anyone special in his life but he DID want to know what he meant by those two- or three words. Tails started to laugh but soon stopped and started explaining to his older brother what he meant by it which was pretty shocking how sonic has chaos energy and doesn't know any of this but Sonic doesn't really use it as shadow does so it's pretty understandable.

"When you find someone that you like- or love very much then you'll start to feel comfortable around them and if they feel the same way around you then both of you guys' energy will connect. And what I mean by inseparable is that it can never be broken once connected, not even after death but the fun part about it is that I found out that you and that person who is connected to your energy can find each other just by your senses, once you feel their presence your energy will rise up a little until you can clearly see them and then your chaos energy would soon calm down. I would explain more but it seemed like you don't really need it " Tails ended with a chuckle which made the other chuckle as well but again, sonic did have one last question but this one was not as important but he still wanted to ask it so he did.

"One last question" Tails looked at him curiously and nodded.

"Did you really spend all day searching this up?"
