the house was soon drowning in silence, not the silence that one could not hear a single thing -- hence the fact, that it was practically pouring cats and dogs outside. but it was the silence that made it evident, that no one else was here other than herself.
subconsciously blinking once -- even twice -- whilst the palm of her hand supports her head, as the teen watched each drop slowly made its way down the glass surface before her very eyes. everything seemed peaceful, yet so lonesome. even for the likes of a girl like her; she should be used to this kind of atmosphere around her. but it seemed like something was missing.
with another blink, the adolescent finally sat in a comfortable position on the brown sofa. swiftly took a grasp on the black television remote, before sighing as she soon began to flicker through channel to channel. but none had seemed to appeal her interests.
" ... there must be something else over here ..."
she says in a mild tone. rubbing her right temple with her propped up arm; however, her attentions were finally set upon the news' headline. raising her brow out of pure curiosity, due to the fact, no one should be there at this time of the week.
School's Rooftop is Blazing Rapidly.
"it appears that this blaze had been set up to propose an effect on people; this was certainly caused by humanity's enemy. conduits."
the way that the newscaster had emphasized the word, humanity, sounded as if the word tasted like poison on her tongue. but that didn't threatened the girl's eagerness on the word after: conduits.
she only thought of having inhumane powers, such as those people, were merely computer graphics made to look realistic. but this ... this was real.
the school's area wasn't as close to her hometown, so a casual sense of relief breathed into her. but something in her wanted to go and see some conduits for herself. however, the thought of her father finding out, made her shiver as her blood went cold all of a sudden.
shaking herself out of it, the teen raked her hands through her soft brown hair. relieving herself as if it were simply an everyday thought; a thought of meeting a conduit herself. either dangerous or not. this was something to take into account, nonetheless if it were merely some reckless kids who were to be doing some ridiculous act to prove Conduits should be bowed to.
feeling her hand go numb after being curled into a tight ball, she soon released her tight grasp of the pillow that she had subconsciously embraced. an incoherent noise escaped her lips lightly, as her brows furrowed whilst her mind went blank. "stupid conduits."

buzz.
buzz.
buzz.
the younker rolled her eyes as her phone had broken the silence that her room had donned in her presence; groaning as she had to shift on the covers just to reach her phone, which was merely on the table next to the right side of her bed.
seeing who texted her, had sparked a bit of astonishment in those electric blue hues of hers. at least, someone finally decided to entertain her, before she had succumbed to the boredom of waiting for her father.
[TEXT:Musical Dork]: hey chris, how's it going?
[TEXT:Special Snowflake]: nothing's really going on ... I'm practically bored outta my mind.
[TEXT:Special Snowflake]: what about you?[TEXT:Musical Dork]: nm either, just stressing over homework . - .
[TEXT:Special Snowflake]: oh, it's hard-knock life for us, ain't it? hehe :P
[TEXT:Musical Dork]: ... christina frost, did you really just, do the thing?
[TEXT:Special Snowflake]: yup i did, beat, i did xP
[TEXT:Musical Dork]: lksdfljdsf, y'know, sometimes i think that you're more of a dork than i am.
[TEXT:Special Snowflake]: pfffft, yeah right, not one single person can ever surpass your dorkiness.
[TEXT:Special Snowflake]: that's why you're the king of dorks. lmao[TEXT:Musical Dork]: heh, that's when you're wrong
[TEXT:Musical Dork]: there's at least one person who could do such a thing[TEXT:Special Snowflake]: oh yeah? who would that be then dork king?
{ the name Musical Dork has changed to Dork King Alert }
a smug smile lit up the teen's face, before a small chuckle had resonated her lips, as she read through the ongoing conversation. her best friend was always there to cheer her up, no matter what mood she was in, even if she was the one making the jokes so far. but sadly, now they're a bit far apart from each other. thus, they would merely text to keep each other in check.
however, there was another feeling that was unknown for her to familiarize. it had always bubbled up whenever she was around him, or even talking to him. sighing, she shook it off as if it were nothing and soon resumed to check what he had sent a minute ago.
[TEXT: Dork King Alert]: ... that one person is you
a light hue of red was soon blossoming in the pigments of her cheeks as she read the text. unsure of how to respond, she sighed and laid herself back onto her bed. although, the younker could not help but smile over the fact that he finds her dorky.
[TEXT:Special Snowflake]: awww how charming of you
after that one text, she couldn't spare another overwhelming moment before she squealed into her pillow. the butterflies in her stomach has finally ceased, but all she could think of was him throughout the rest of the night.
