After we got Steven cleaned up, i tried to put a ice pack on his black eye to help with the swelling. But he would refuse.

"C'mon.. I'm trying to get your eye to heal, it'll help your eye not swell as bad." I'd offer, trying to make sure he feels better. he'd shake his head, he seemed off, as if he seemed scared. "Are you ok? We're about to go on a mission.. ok? Amethyst is gonna stay behind, or maybe I should.."

He'd cling onto me, sobbing loudly "hey-hey-heyyy.... Relax.. it's only gonna take a bit.. i promise we'll be back in only a few.. or do you want me or garnet to stay?" I'd say in an offering tone, "we're probably gonna go talk to doctor Maheswaren tomorrow.. so i want you to get the best rest you can.." he'd then gently jab his finger lightly into my chest, "you want me to stay?"

"N... Nmhm.."

I gasp, this is the first sign of communication he has attempted. I'd then text garnet and amethyst in a group chat, 'don't wait for me, Steven wants me to stay.'
