What a Child Can Do [DOOM]

Patrick was watching television in his room before his mother called him down for dinner. He sat down at the table to eat and started digging in. He paused when he heard screaming outside. An explosion blasted through the window next to him. Then he blacked out.

He woke up and heard growling. He looked around and saw a zombie like creature standing next to the dead bodies of his parents. Blinded by rage, he stood up and grabbed a knife from the table. He sprinted at the zombie and shoved the knife through its throat. He swore to kill every one of those things.

He walked outside and was shocked to see military soldiers fighting off a bunch of orange and purple creatures with spikes along their backs. He watched as one of the creatures killed the soldier it was fighting. The creature noticed Patrick and lunged at him. He held his arms up, closed his eyes, and braced for his death.

But it never came. He opened his eyes and saw his knife impaling the creature's eye. He cautiously pulled the knife out of the creature's eye and walked over to the dead soldier. He grabbed the soldiers pistol, helmet and vest and started shooting at the other orange creatures.
