Sportacus sat at the bar with his head in his hands. The ball had ended and everyone had left. He had taken off his suit jacket long ago, it stank of Venus and it made his heart sink at every reminder of what happened.

"Nova.." He whispered somberly swirling his drink; his large muscular frame leaned over the bar.

Why did Venus have to kiss me? He thought to himself distraught.

His mind spun and he had gone so far as to go above just being buzzed, it was an attempt at numbing the grief but it merely amplified it.

He looked around the room, it was a mess, confetti and bunting littered the floor, along with paper cups and napkins from the snack table. The only thing that was left unscathed was the piano that the band had left on stage. A single spotlight illuminated it and his eyes widened seeing Nova stepping out from the curtains. She looked around to see if anyone was still in the room and failed to notice Sportacus sitting drunkenly at the bar. She circled the piano in thought and Sportacus watched in anticipation.

Is she going to play? He asked himself captivated.

She stared down at the piano stool and sat down.

Sportacus drank the last of his drink and silently placed it back onto the bar and wiped the corner of his mouth dry. Nova traced her fingers along the keys as though the piano was an old friend she was getting re-aquaintenced with.

Come on... play... he pleaded in his head.

Nova breathed deeply, closing her eyes and she began to play. It was a gentle melody, it was melancholic.

"A cricket's chirping in a far away place,"

She began to sing shakily. There was something so entrancing about a song from a sad heart.

"A summer breeze blowing,"

She wasn't playing the most complex of melodies, but it wasn't needed. Sportacus felt himself lift from his seat and he walked towards the beautiful music.

"Love in your face,

With the moon, it's all sad it sounds,

And the hopes that the morning won't come,

So I say it,"

Her fingers left the keys before she could finish the song and she looked down at her lap, two tears dripped from her eyelashes, splashing on her hands below. Sportacus sat down next to her and sat silently. He knew nothing he said right now would do any good, and she knew there was no use arguing. She was tired of fighting. Sportacus glanced at her momentarily, and then began to play a similar melody. From the heart.

'I know i do wrong,

It shows in your eyes," He sung. Nova looked up at him sadly, surprised that he shared her love for singing, but quickly looked away again. He noticed and looked back down at the keys focusing on his words.

'This hearts been trying to hold on,

I let the moment pass me by,"

He sung shakily. He wanted to give up and hesitated on the next keys, his fingers drew back slightly but he stopped when he saw Novas own reaching back to her keys and she began to play along-side him. His cheeks warmed and his moustache curled upwards subtly.

"Oh I've been trying,

Ive been trying girl..

Oh I've been trying..."
