Kunikuzushi glided through the doors of the jailhouse, greeting the guards and officers with a salute. He walks over to the reception and whips out his phone, showing it to the receptionist, and said, "My accomplices should already be there. Don't worry, if it becomes too much for us to handle, I'll call for help."

The receptionist nodded and gestured for him to proceed.

An officer went ahead of him and start unlocking layers and layers of gates before he finally arrived at the interrogation room. He gives the officer a thankful nod before he went in.

"Well, well, look who finally decided to show up," a red-headed boy said. "Mighty bold of you to keep Detective Sango waiting, Rai."

"Shut it, Shikanoin." Kunikuzushi rolled his eyes. "You weren't the one who had to sign all the stupid documents for someone who's not even family."

"If it bothered you so much you could've asked one of us to do it for you," Heizou scoffed. "Just admit you care for her~"

"No, I just don't trust you." Kunikuzushi glared.

A brunet man, Detective Sango, cleared his throat to draw attention to him. "Now, now, gentlemen, let's lessen the bickering so we can achieve more in the time we have left." He turned to Heizou. "I assumed that because my daughter recommended you, you'd behave much better, Mr. Shikanoin."

"Right, right, my bad."  Heizou cleared his throat. "I will behave myself now."

"Where are the two witnesses? I have a few questions I'd like to ask them," Detective Sango said, crossing his arms. "I believe your mother told me they would be here."

"They'll be here soon, one of them just needs to get treated. I assure you, however, that I'll give you as much information as I possibly can," Kunikuzushi replied.

"Hmm, alright then." Detective Sango nodded in satisfaction. "Mr. Shikanoin, if you may interrogate the others who are waiting outside..."

"Yep, got it." Heizou gives him a thumbs-up and exits the room.

"Now, Mr. Rai, please have a seat, and let's figure this situation out." Detective Sango gestured for the chair in front of him.

_______

"So yeah, he's temporarily confined in his own cell and receiving medication... However, his sentence has not been confirmed yet as his court trial will be taking place two days later," Heizou explained.

"I see." Albedo nodded. "How unfortunate. Hu would be too adamant about him serving his sentence... I had to promise her justice would be brought forth just so she would allow herself to be left behind."

"We'll figure that all out once is due," Heizou said dismissively. "And the victim? How is she?"

"Unconscious as of now. Once Ayaka and Aether arrive, we'll be able to get a more recent update," Albedo responded. "To be frank, the one thing on my mind right now is the perpetrator's intentions."

"His name is Zandik."

"Yes, yes, I know, but I prefer not to address him as so to give him the least amount of respect as I can."

"You're weird," Heizou chuckled.. "But I'm not all that surprised, honestly. Based on his criminal record, I'm surprised this is the worst he's done the past few years... At least of what we know of."

"Good afternoon Mr. Shikanoin, Mr. Kreideprinz." A soft voice greets them both followed by Ayaka and Aether arriving at the scene. "I apologize for the delay, we had to have Aether's wound bandaged up."

"Oh, no worries, Ms. Kamisato. All is well, all is well." Heizou smiled. "I'm just glad you're here now. I have quite a few questions I'd like to ask you."

"You?" Albedo raised an eyebrow. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but Detective Sango is the one interrogating Ayaka and Aether, is he not?"

"He is," Heizou said. "But as he is speaking with Kunikuzushi as of now, would it hurt to have me question them first? I am something of a detective myself too, you know~ not a legal one, but a detective, nevertheless."

"Alright then, I cannot argue with that." Albedo sighed. "Though I believe you'd only be able to question one of them before Detective Sango calls them in."

"Then I'll question Ms. Kamisato," Heizou said. "I don't believe Mr. Zeus is ready for questioning yet." He gestures for Aether who looks to be in a bad mood.

"Sorry, he and Kunikuzushi just had a terrible encounter beforehand." Ayaka smiled sheepishly. "Yes, I'll answer your questions truthfully."

"Great! Then please, have a seat." Heizou patted the seat next to him. "I'd like to know about how you got involved in all this, to begin with. I know for a fact that Mr. Zeus' involvement was a mere accident... But you, however..."

Ayaka visibly paled, hands fiddling as she looked at anywhere but him.

Albedo notices this and immediately gets up to get to her defense. "Mr. Shikanoin, I'm afraid I will have to cut you short in your investigation if you start out so strong—"

"Man alive, calm down, I was just kidding." Heizou sighed. "Though I do want to know more about that aspect, I won't force her to answer immediately."

"N-no... Albedo, it's okay." Ayaka smiled reassuringly. "I'll answer... I don't think it's right for me to keep it to myself anyway."

"Are you certain, Ayaka?"

"Yes..." Ayaka straightened up, sucking in a deep breath. "I was blinded by fear and anxiety at first... But now I can speak up as he is behind bars."

"That's nice, but I'd like to ask for a little commercial break between your main character moment," Heizou said. "Have you two seen where Mr. Zeus went? He slipped away in the short amount of time we've spoken."

Ayaka and Albedo both look around, confirming that the blond boy truly was gone.

"Oh no," Ayaka said worriedly.

"Is there something you'd like to say, Ms. Kamisato?" Heizou hummed.

"He must've gone to the cellars," Ayaka said. "When we were on our way here... He was just so... He was acting very strange. Strange like I've never seen him so stressed and angry before."

"Hm, that is a concern." Albedo nodded. "We should go look for him before he does anything regretful."

"Sneak into a cellar full of criminals and murderers?" Heizou smirked. "Yeah sure, I'll just send Detective Sango a text then put my phone on silent, let's go."
