Chapter 6

"Thank you!"

"No problem."

Not a minute later, Juhyeok was playing with the duck, acting like the little child he is.

"Quack quack quack quack," he imitated, bursting into giggles.

And Taehyun himself couldn't contain his laughter: his son just looked so cute and funny playing with his rubber duckie.

But he stopped laughing when he felt his shirt suddenly getting wet.

"Kang Juhyeok!"

The little boy couldn't stop laughing, and Taehyun decided that the two could play a game.

"Ohh you're not getting away from this!"

Taehyun splashed Juhyeok back, who squealed at the top of his lungs and was screaming from laughter at him.

"Stop! Stop! I'm sorry!" Juhyeok giggled.

Taehyun laughed back in return, and he just wrapped his arms around Juhyeok, not minding that his shirt would get wet.

"Ahh I love you Juju," he said.

Juhyeok giggled.

"I love you too Dad."

After Juhyeok was done with his bath, Taehyun dressed him in comfortable clothes, and carried him downstairs with a heating pad in his hands.

"I unfortunately can't give you pancakes today, but does toast with honey and some warm tea sound good for you?" Taehyun asked.

Juhyeok nodded.

"Anything is tasty when you cook it!"

"Okay then."

Taehyun laid Juhyeok on the couch, placed the heating pad on his tummy, and covered him with a blanket.

"You can watch TV right now while I prepare your toast, okay?"

"Okay Dad."

Taehyun walked to the kitchen and looked for toast bread in the pantry. After finding it, he took two slices out and placed them inside the toaster, setting it onto Station Level 2.

He then looked for the honey and some tea bags, before boiling hot water in the tea kettle, just as the toast finished.

He took a plate, spread honey over the bread, and once the kettle was done boiling, Taehyun placed the tea bags in.

Juhyeok was watching a new episode of Wonder Pets when Taehyun returned to the living room with the toast and cup of tea.

"Here," he smiled.

"Thanks Dad!"

Juhyeok bit hungrily into the toast.

"Did you eat already?"

Taehyun nodded.

"While you were asleep."

"Hmm..."

Suddenly, Juhyeok had a question.

"What about school?"

"I already emailed your teacher. She wishes you a speedy recovery, and said she'll collect all your schoolwork and homework."

"Ooo, great."

"Your teacher is very nice, I must say," Taehyun admitted.

Juhyeok nodded.

"She is! She never raises her voice, never gets mad, and she's always really patient with us."
