Alec looked at Magnus and Magnus understood that his husband could see his pain too, the pain after losing him, and so on.

"Can anyone go back to normal after living for so many years? Is anyone the same?", Max asked looking down at the floor.

"No, but one can live through it, just like you, your brother, and Papa", Alec said, "You three are standing here strong, at least the two of you are and I believe Raphael is alright", Alec said.

"He is perfectly alright, he is in Idris, there are not a lot of shadowhunters in the institutes, the ones there are is in Idris", Max said. 

"But how Dad?", he asked changing the subject, "That's what I was going to ask and was interrupted twice by you and your uncle Jace", Magnus said narrowing his eyes at Jace, who was suddenly very interested in his sword.

"How-", Magnus started again, "Uncle Jace", Max said noticing the others, hugging Jace, "Hey my sweet nephew", Jace said smiling as he hugged back.

"Hey I am here too", Izzy said, "Of course Aunty Iz, I would never forget you", Max said and hugged his aunt and the others too.

"You know what? I don't have time for this, Max, go back to Idris and tell them these six are back and we will be there within an hour, we have to open all the institutes back", Magnus said.

Lightwoods, Herondales, Fairchilds, Carstairs, and a few Lightwood-Banes were one of the few shadowhunter families alive, some came into the mundane world from which came these new-not exactly, five shadowhunters.

"But-", Max started, "Max listen to your papa, he is right, we will explain everything later, but everything needs to be restored immediately", Alec said.

"Ok fine, but I am going to Raph first", Max said and jumped into a portal of his own, "You little-", Magnus started but stopped seeing the six laugh.

"Ha ha very funny, but guess what, the institute will be very confused now, the ones who are in it at least and we need to arrange it all back, so I need everyone else to leave", Magnus said.

"True, but first I need my holsters", Jace said, "We are not walking into a war", Magnus said as all started gearing up in their outfits.

"Still, we need to be ready now more than ever", Simon said he and Alec glamouring their bow on their back.

"Whatever, come on now", Magnus said, and the six after 'suiting up' walked out to the hall, "Clary what's going on?", Jocelyn asked as they walked out to see a few only remaining.

Alec and Izzy saw their parents, the parents of their new life, the same people but different souls, "Mom it's a little hard to explain, but the party is canceled, you guys need to leave", Clary said looking at Jace and the others.

"What? why?", Valentine asked coming towards them, along with Maryse and Robert Lightwood, "Isabelle what are you wearing?", her mother asked.

"And where are your glasses and what's with all the tattoos, where were you five, and who is this man?", Robert asked.

Alec took Magnus's hand, letting his wedding ring shine, "Alec, what is happening? Why are you wearing a ring in your wedding finger?" Maryse asked.

"I am sorry mama, but I can't explain", Alec said, "And we can't tell anything else to Mom", Jace said and Alec nodded at Magnus.

Magnus swiftly did some magic making the parents think that their children were away studying and the runes on them were nothing.

They all stood still and walked out without a word and Izzy started crying into Simon's shoulder, "I am sorry", Magnus said to Alec.

"It's ok, we chose this and I don't regret it even for a second", Alec said looking at Magnus, "Neither do we", Jace said.

The others nodded, Izzy and Clary, wiping their tears, Magnus smiled and kissed Alec's cheek and closed his eyes concentrating on his magic.

Slowly the mundane decorations started vanishing and the institute rattled as the things it used to have started popping in its place, Magnus's knees buckled at the excess magic and Alec immediately held him both kneeling on the floor, Magnus leaning into Alec.

"I feel like you need my strength", Alec said smiling softly and Magnus looked into his eyes, "I will always need your strength Alexander", Magnus said and Alec extended his hand letting Magnus take it.

Magnus started immediately finishing the arrangement and finally snapped his fingers making the other four look at their hands.

Their wedding rings were there, "It's time you guys go back to what you are to each other too", Magnus said slumping into Alec who smiled and kissed his head.

The couples smiled and exchanged rings after saying a quick thank you to Magnus, "The sanctuary needs a shadowhunter to open", Magnus said trying to stand.

"I don't think you can stand Magnus, that was advanced magic", Alec said, "I am Magnus Lightwood-Bane", he said and tried to stand but couldn't and fell into Alec's arms who lifted him bridal style.

"And I am Alexander Lightwood-Bane, come on we need you to be on your full strength to portal back to Idris", Alec said.

"Guys all of you rest, memories surfacing can be tiring, we can leave within an hour", Alec said and all walked to their rooms.

Alec took Magnus to his room, laid Magnus down on the bed, and lied next to him, "Alexan-" Magnus started a little strained.

"Sleep honey, I will be here when you wake up, this isn't a dream", Alec said knowing Magnus's fear.

"I love you", Magnus said softly making Alec chuckle and kiss Magnus's forehead, "I love you too", he said pulling Magnus to his chest.

"You still didn't tell me", Magnus said softly, "Tell you what?", Alec asked, "Why you chose to be reborn, why didn't you cross the river?", Magnus asked.

"I didn't want to know, not without you", Alec said and Magnus looked up, "Know what?", he asked and Alec looked into his eyes.

Both their eyes were shining, shining with love, passion, truth, trust, and everything else words cannot and couldn't ever explain.

"The Other side", Alec said and Magnus smiled and leaned to kiss Alec who reciprocated with so much love and passion, their love swirling around them, tied with them forever.

They were finally home, forever...
