You didn't know what, but for some reason, you sensed something different about your surroundings.
But you didn't think on that for too long.
The only thing you were focused on was how cramped and hot you felt.
It was time for some fresh air.
You pushed a leg out, and you heard as your tiny talons scraped against the eggshell, causing your tiny enclosure to rock around.
"Oh! Connie! Look!"
You were barely aware Steven's excited squeal from outside your egg as you kicked at the tight shell again, causing it to buckle under your foot with a crack! A faint breeze of cool air trickling through the newly formed crack and you grumbled in slight desperation, wanting nothing more than to free yourself and stretch out.
You let out a soft grunt as you kicked at the brittle walls over and over again, widening the crack which let cool, oddly fragrant air to flutter over your tiny, albumen slick body, and frankly sting lightly at your sensitive nose.
A much louder squeak, more of a startled yelp escapes your tiny mouth as the wall you kicked at gave way, exposing your small digitgrade foot, as well as your (color) reptilian tail to the cold air.
Your tiny limb and tail flailed in the exposed air, as you realized you were upside down.
"Oh!"
"What the-?!"
Without the shell's cover, you could now hear the outside much louder and clearer, which included the voices now, which caused you to pause instinctively, shivering in uncertainty with a soft grumble in your throat.
"Oops... I think we scared it."
You heard Connie's voice warn in a soft whisper-like tone. "We should stand back a bit."
Hearing her, as well as feeling their presence ease up slightly managed to get your self-preservation to restart, and you pressed on, determined free yourself.
You started to kick at the shell again, rocking it back and forth, causing the egg to fall over, and you found yourself now laying on your back. Using this advantage, you use all four limbs to push and scrape at the shell that still remained around you, and your efforts were rewarded with a gust of cold as it gave way.
Within minutes nothing but the scattered remains of shell surround you, and you releasing a long, weary yawn as you stretched all of your limbs out, the gills on the sides of your neck flaring open at the cool, if a little stiff air invading them.
Freedom at last...
And as much as you wished to survey your new surroundings, you couldn't help but feel a wave of exhaustion crash over you from your feat. Your eyelids and body felt heavy, as if gravity had increased to unsound levels. You grumbled, curling in on yourself to preserve heat, dragging in another breath of air. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Uuuuh... C-Connie...?"
"Uh...."
