Trigger Warning: Self-Harm
Days after the arrest of Clifford Blossom, you'd think that Riverdale would have some sense of calmness after the murderer has been apprehended. Unfortunately, that wouldn't be the case at all. You see, as Y/N was hospitalized for a few days to recover from his injuries during the scuffle back at the farm, Cheryl, who was not able to visit her close friend, along with her mental stability had begun to decline, no thanks to her vile mother, who has started to poison her with her words that seemingly manage to get under her daughter's skin. It wasn't until when Y/N was free to leave the hospital was he able to start picking up on the signs, which were as subtle as a whisper. Cheryl hides her emotions from strangers well that you'd think she's just being her usual self, but all she ever wants is validation, love, and care.
Currently, Y/N is seen roaming the halls of Riverdale High to meet with Jughead about the current situation of his father, FP, who Sheriff Keller said is still wanted for covering up the murder in the first place. An unfortunate result, but one that Y/N knew would happen sooner or later when he had let the Serpent King stay in his house for the time being. Opening the doors to the cafeteria of the school, Y/N is met with many curious eyes of the students around him, but he didn't mind them because the person he is looking for is simply eating on a cafeteria burger, which is not as good as Pop's version. He walks over to the table and sits across from Jughead, giving him a small smile.
"Hey Jug, how're you holding up after everything you've uncovered?" Y/N asks as to not aggravate any negative emotions from the son of the Serpent King.
"Considering the fact that life has somehow been moving on like nothing ever happened, I'd say I'm holding up just as fine as everyone else, minus my dad still being wanted for covering up the scene of the crime." Jughead responds, placing his burger down on his plate, looking up towards his friend. "But I do gotta ask though, what was the agenda of the vigilante from New York when he first arrived back in Riverdale?" He asks softly, causing Y/N's eyes to widen in shock, surprised that Jughead of all people would realize that his own friend is the Rubber-Man, but knowing how invested he was in Jason's case, it didn't come as a huge surprise.
"You coming back to Riverdale, the sudden appearance of this Rubber-Man vigilante, it's not a coincidence at all, Y/N." He points out the facts, causing said person to sigh in defeat, having been caught red-handed by Jughead.
"I'm an open book, Jughead. I wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of New York, and I wanted to visit my friends before I went back on the road to somewhere else, another state maybe. But...after this entire thing, I think I might have to change plans. For example, your father is currently living with me in my house, and...I don't want him to suffer the consequences of trying to protect his gang. So, how would you like to come with me back to New York? FP said yes, although hesitantly, and all I need is your confirmation." This catches Jughead off guard when Y/N randomly offers him to move to a new town, city even, to start a new life, even if he has one here in the quiet town. He has a girlfriend in Betty, friends in Archie and Veronica, and it would be quite difficult to break it to them AFTER making the decision.
"Could I think about it? I don't want to jump into the lion's den without talking it over with the others." Jughead asks Y/N, who simply smiles and nods at him before a certain New York native comes along with a tray of her own food.
"Betty's babysitting Polly today, mind if I join you two?" Veronica asks.
"Are you sure you wanna sit at the "Social Pariah's Table"?" Jughead asks playfully, causing her to smile softly and sit down anyways while Y/N looks around the cafeteria, looking for a certain female redhead.
"I've been sitting at it for months. Why should today be any different?" She asks rhetorically before continuing. "By the way, I've been thinking, you and I have a lot in common."
