'All hair oil and no socks.'

Start from the beginning

"I'm sorry. My friend already explained to the other gentleman--" Tintin started.

"American he was. All hair oil and no socks." The man said, still pouting.

"It's not for sale." Tintin finished.

The man in red looked at both Tintin and me before clicking his pen again and putting his checkbook away. He started to walk towards us making me clutch tighter onto Tintin's arm.

"Then let me appeal to your better nature. I have recently acquired Marlinspike Hall. And this ship, I'm sure you're aware, was once part of the estate." He started to explain.

"Of the late sea captain." Tintin clarified and he nodded.

"The family fell upon hard times. Lost everything. They've been living in a cloud of bad luck ever since. We are talking generations of drinking, and irrational behavior --" He started to go on but Tintin interrupted him.

"I'm sorry, but as we told you before... it's not for sale. Good day to you, sir." Tintin said pulling the ship close to his chest before looking at me and nodding.

We walked away from the man and I let out a sharp breath as soon as we were out of his sight. "That man gave me the shivers..." I admitted. I was still clutching onto Tintin but he didn't seem to mind.

"Me too, Ella." Tintin agreed.

Third POV

"That young man and lady... what are their names?" The man in the red coat asked the man in the chair.

"Them? Everybody knows them. That's Tintin and Eleanor." He answered him.

The man's eyes narrowed and followed the pair until they were out of sight, slightly scowling at them.

Eleanor's POV

Tintin, Snowy, and I entered the apartment, still on edge about the encounter.

"What is it about this ship? Why has it attracted so much attention?" Tintin asked aloud. He walked over to the corner table and placed it down. "What secrets do you hold?" He whispered.

Tintin threw off his jacket and sped into our office, beginning to rummage through the drawers. I chuckled while taking off my own jacket and scarf. Knowing he'd be looking for his magnifying glass, I went and got it from the kitchen table where he left it last night.

Third POV

The office was lined with articles about the two reporters.

Shanghai News: "Tintin and Eleanor Find Fang Hsi-Ying"

The Daily Reporter: "Forgers Found on Mystery Isle"

The African: "An Extraordinary Mystery: Reporter Duo, Tintin and Eleanor, Unmask Tribe of Gangsters"

The Daily Papyrus: "Reporters Uncover Crime Ring"

The San Theodoros Tribune: "Tintin and Eleanor Retrieve National Artifact: Stolen Idol Returns to Museum"

Syloavia: "Stolen Sceptre Returned to King: Boy and girl reporters honoured in Syldavia"

Eleanor's POV

"Ella, you haven't seen the, uh...?" Tintin called out as I stepped into the office, holding his magnifying glass in my hand.

"Where is it?" He asked, going through his shelf. I coughed, turning his attention towards me. "You left it on the kitchen table last night." I said with a smirk.
