It starts in episode 4x22 in TVD, when those who are dead, can come back and talk to the living ones. When Elena has her humanity back and is by her brother's grave, someone shows up. But it's not Jeremy. It's someone who has some unfinished buisnes...
Kol started to dial Klaus' number. It rang several times before someone finally picked up on the other side.
"Who are you?" A voice asked.
"Nice to hear you too, brother." Said Kol.
The one on the other side went silent.
"What's going on, Nik? Dont tell me you just got a heart attack. I would feel really sorry." Said sarcastically Kol.
"Kol?" Asked finally Klaus.
"Waau, took you long enough to figure it out. I'm dead just a few months and my family almost forget about me. So sad."
"How is that possible?"
"Just one little Bennet witch was making a spell. But it will long just a few hours and then I'm coming back to the other side. Actually, I'm not the only one who's back, but that's not important now."
"So, you're back?"
"Just for a few hours, yes, brother."
On the other side silince again.
"It's good to hear you, Kol."
Kol smiled.
"Likewise, brother. At least one of my sibling is actually happy to see me or hear me."
"What do you mean?"
"Let's say that our dear sister wasnt that happy when I almost killed her little human."
"What?! Kol, you said he's ok!" Elena asked furious now.
"And he is. Relax, Elena. Little Donovan is fine."
"Wait, you're with my doppelgänger now?!"
"You still go with that, Klaus?"
"I'm more curious now, how is it possible that she's still alive?"
"Dont know. I guess I had a little weak moment." Kol pretened he's thinking about his thoughts.
Elena just rolled her eyes.
"Kol Mikaelson, my brother and had a little weak moment?" Klaus asked suspiciously.
"What can I say? I'm suprised too."
"So, you're saying that Elena Gilbert, that girl who helped to kill you, is right next to you, still breathing?"
"Well, technically, she's dead. We're all dead. Me the most." Kol smiled like he said some fantastic joke.
"Kol." "Kol." Said Elena next to him and Klaus on the other side of the phone.
"Wau, that was weird." Kol said.
Elena looked at him to ask Klaus for the reason he's actually calling.
"Fine. Klaus, I'm not calling you just because I want to hear your angelic voice. I need something. Well, Elena wants something."
"Elena Gilbert wants something from me and she's asking you?"
"Well, world is weird, what can I say?"
"If you didnt kill her and I know you would do it immediatelly when you would have the chance ... what is it, little brother? What the doppelgänger wants?"
"Your blood. Or more like, your wolf blood. To cure one vampire from a werewolf bite."
"Well, well. Look at it. A doppelgänger who killed my brother wants me to save someone for her. What an irony." Elena heard every word Klaus said and she knew he was enjoying it.
"And who would it be may I ask?"
"Older Salvatore."
"Damon. She wants me to save her boyfriend."
"He's not ... we're not ..." Elena didnt know how to end the sentence.
She knew Klaus could hear her.
"This is even funnier than I thought it could be." Klaud laughed on the other side.
"Brother, tell miss Gilbert ... no, from me. Sometimes, people die, vampires die. Deal with it."
"That's what you did brother after MY death? You dealt with it?" Asked Kol without any emotions in his voice.
"Of course not, little brother. The first thing I wanted to do was to ripped the bloody throat of the girl who's right next to you and her little brother."
"What stopped you?"
"Maybe I had a little weak moment."
"Funny, really, brother."
"So, you're saying you wont help, Nik? Even if I would be one little blondie who would call you? You know, Elena could ask her but she asked me, YOUR dead brother. "
"What is it, Kol? Blackmailing?"
"Why not? You know, I can still call our oldest brother and something is telling me, he would drag your bloody ass here no matter what. Even unconscious."
"You're evil little brother."
"I had the best teachers." Kol said smiling.
"We'll see." Said Klaus and hang up the call.
"That's it?" Asked Elena.
"He'll come ... maybe. Probably. Who knows." Said Kol and returned to his glass.
"Kol..."
"Look, I did what you asked me. Now, if he comes it's up to him."
"You know for a moment I thought ..." Elena stopped talking. "Nothing." She said after a while and then she started to walk away.
"Elena." Kol called after her.
She turned around.
"He'll come. Trust me." And she knew he meant it.
Elena smiled at him.
"Thank you, Kol."
"Thank me, when you bring me back." He said and was back at his glass.
Elena was looking at his back and then she turned around and walk away.
