(This is part two of my oneshot "Switch It Up!", originally requested by @MushroomLovee10 and part two requested by @Madeline795800! I strongly recommend you read the first part for context. I think this one was highly anticipated, so I hope you all enjoy, and thank you for being patient! <3)

"Uh, Narrator...? Where's the button to go back?" Stanley asked, noticing that there wasn't a clear answer to his question. "All these buttons look exactly the same, how the heck does the Narrator operate this?" He wondered.

"Oh, right. Well, I... oh, I'm not sure. I'll be honest – I switched us by editing the code on the computer next to you, and I assume you don't know how to do that, do you?" The Narrator asked. Stanley looked to his right, and sure enough, there was a small laptop sitting on a desk. The Narrator was right. Stanley had no experience in code. "Well, um... no. So how do I get out of here, exactly?" He asked, getting a bit stressed out. "I'm not sure, I already said that. Truth be told, with the situation we're in right now, I know how to get you back here... but then, where do I go? We'd both be in the Parable, together, with no way for me to get back to my usual narrating."

"Well, is that so bad...?" Stanley asked softly. The Narrator shrugged, blushing a little. "I guess not." He paused for a moment. "Okay, if that's the route we're going to take, then there should be a yellow button with a slight greenish tint on your left. It's tiny, about the size of a jacket button. It should take you here." He explained. Stanley looked to his left. There was the button. "Is that seriously how you differentiate these? 'Slight greenish tint'?" He asked, incredulous. The Narrator nodded, blushing and crossing his arms. "And? What's w-wrong with that?" He demanded, annoyed. "I guess nothing... but, hey, we should probably talk about this more before I press the button anyways. I mean, are you SURE there's no way for you to get back here without editing the code, or whatever?"

The Narrator nodded. "Yes, it's not possible if you don't know how. But if I'm being honest..." He paused, taking a deep breath.

"I wouldn't mind. I mean, I wouldn't mind being stuck with you here. I wouldn't be able to reset anymore, but I'd probably still be able to change the surroundings with my remaining power. And anyways, that's not what matters most to me."

Stanley tilted his head in confusion. "What matters most to you, then?" He asked, curious. The Narrator blushed. "T-that doesn't matter!" He stammered, looking at the floor of the broom closet. He half forgot he was in there. Stanley sighed. "So what I'm getting at is that whatever matters most to you, doesn't matter at all? How does that even make sense?" He asked, a blank expression on his face. "N-no, you've got it all wrong. Whatever matters most to me is simply none of your business, but what it does affect is the fact that, well, I wouldn't mind being... with you. N-not in a romantic sense, of course! I mean as in literally with you, in the Parable." The Narrator spluttered. His composed and calm attitude was slowly falling apart, right in front of Stanley's eyes. He was loving it, giggling away at him. It was very clear to him now. The Narrator felt for him, didn't he?

While Stanley was gazing dreamily at the Narrator through the screen, the Narrator himself was busy hiding his red face by keeping his stare fixed on the floor. "Oh dear, I should've kept my mouth shut." He thought to himself, embarrassed.

"Hey, Narrator?" Stanley asked, catching the Narrator's attention. "Y-yes?" The Narrator stammered in response, barely able to talk. Stanley smiled and reached over to his left.

"Here we go!"

Like magic, Stanley appeared in the broom closet next to the Narrator. There wasn't much space, so he opened the door and they went outside. "Um, you're okay with staying here, right? I know you can't get back to your... 'Narration Room' now." Stanley asked nervously, but the Narrator nodded. "It's alright." He replied, smiling. "I think... I think I'm going to like this."

"Gosh, he's a lot cuter in person, isn't he?" The Narrator thought to himself, careful not to say it out loud. He felt his face going red again, so he tried to hide it, but Stanley saw. "This is so embarrassing." He thought sadly. "I don't have any hold on my emotions."

"It's okay, Narry. Don't be embarrassed." Stanley whispered with a smile, lifting the Narrator's head up. He blushed profusely – he had said it out loud by mistake. He went to apologise, but his body refused to let him speak as he was so nervous.

Stanley could tell he was stressed out for one reason or another, so as if it would make it better, he gently wrapped his arms around him, trying to keep him steady.

It didn't work.

"Narry, you're shaking so much... are you sure you're okay?" Stanley asked, concerned. He hugged the Narrator tighter, but he was still anxious. The pair had never been so close to each other... "I guess it makes sense."

While he thought the Narrator was cute when he was nervous, he still wanted to comfort him, and it seemed the hug method wasn't working. So, he took a step back, and gave the Narrator some space.

"S-sorry, it's just... I think it was the switch, you know? Earlier, w-when I came here for the first time. I think I've still got some sort of... issue." The Narrator explained, trying his best to come up with a believable excuse. Unfortunately, he wasn't the best liar.

Stanley grinned. He was enjoying seeing the Narrator all flustered like this, it was adorable to him. The Narrator, on the other hand, was heavily embarrassed. He was always used to being composed, in control... this just wasn't like that. He sighed. He knew why he was acting like this, but he didn't want to admit it. Stanley could see the sadness in his eyes, and desperately wanted to make him feel better. But...

...on the other hand, he could just...

"Well, let's see... I'd have to ask for your permission, of course, but do you think, maybe... a kiss, would make it better?" He asked, blushing a little himself.

The Narrator, who had completely lost his ability to speak, just nodded his head, a little smile on his face. Stanley smiled too, about to approach the Narrator, but then the Narrator stepped forward. He couldn't help it. He loved Stanley so much, and he had pushed his feelings away for far too long. He rested his lips on his, and the two stayed there for a moment. It was a surprise for Stanley, but a welcome one.

It felt perfect. There were butterflies, and the connection they felt was stronger than it had ever been before.

It was... beautiful...

...maybe a little change wasn't so bad after all?
