It was the next day and you had finally gotten back to the mountain, the flight back home had been a little confusing.
The main ship up ahead was already sunken and on fire once you got to where the location would be, there was smoke to prove it.
Drifter seemed to act uneasy in those moments, like he knew something that you didn't. Although you wouldn't pester him to tell you.
You were patrolling around the island and the oceans with Drifter, some trappers knew how to get to the both of you so you warded off any sort of ships that could be scouting the area.
Picking a fight you can't win would be your biggest mistake.
Drifter roared at you while hovering in the clouds, you knew that Grimmel was out there somewhere and preparing to head to you.
Him and his Deathgripper's only got stronger by the day, Deathgripper's seemed to be likeable dragons but under the wrong persons control. The could end up as quite the meal...
The warlords had apparently teamed up, you found that out when you spotted a crest on a different ship that had been sunk by an unknown force.
the warlords wished to conquer the world, it was idiotic.
Power came with a price, they'd begin to be hunted down by others along with have a target on their heads constantly.
Grimmel must've known about Drifter by now since you've been a real thorn in his side for a while, he had hunted Night Fury's to extinction. It was revenge.
For some odd reason, the warlords wanted you dead too. You had never crossed their paths and didn't stick into their business but somehow... they found out about the Alpha you had been housing for a while.
After different attempts at catching you they must've went to Grimmel, since he had teamed up with them they made a deal.
A crucial one.
The four of them working together with Grimmel seems like a bad idea, he was a liar and even his dragons knew that.
Drifter was a large Night Fury, he was the same age as you too although he was quite tall.
According to some different sources, another Night Fury roamed the skies around an island although you forgot it's name...
You planned to meet the Night Fury in person and get an insight on what it's like to be hunted all the time, it'd be a little hard to fathom what it's like to be such a species.
Even rare species like the Bewilderbeast, Stormcutter and Crimson Goregutter alongside other species. They were hunted at all times since they paid a high price.
Drifter roared as he began to dive out of pure pleasure, the two of you hadn't flown together in a while and yesterday didn't exactly count since it was a battle.
"Catch me if you can!" You exclaimed
You rolled yourself off Drifter quickly and he immediately began to fly beside you, after a shake of your arms you began to fall faster.
Drifter roared at you in annoyance before flapping his wings to catch up with you, you enjoyed testing how fast Drifter could go when not under stress.
Knowing Drifter, he could most likely go faster than what you've heard from others.
"We should totally move to a hotter place sometime, or somewhere more peaceful. Being in the mountains, there's always something going on!" You smiled
Drifter nodded in agreement before looking off at a few clouds that were moving rapidly, they seemed a tad darker than what they would be.
"A storm?... I'm not quite sure if we're due for a storm." You stated
You looked back and noticed a few Deadly Nadder's flying away when a large rumble could be heard throughout the sky.
"Okay... Drifter!" You exclaimed
He flapped his wings to catch up to you quickly before heading under you and pulling up, you sat yourself upright on his saddle before looking at the sky.
"Back to the cave, I suppose. You may go elsewhere if you'd like, just steer clear of that lightning until you get out of it." You stated
Drifter curled his wings as he flew in the cave before landing at the back, claw marks from previous landings were there too.
You got off your dragon and he ran to the edge of the cave and looked down.
"Go on." You smiled
Drifter stared at the sky before roaring softly at you as he looked back, you grabbed your bow and arrow before heading towards him.
"What, getting too lonely? Fine. I'll take another fly with you. Only because you're my best friend!" You said
Drifter laughed before waving his tail up and down as you got on, he then propelled off into the sky and shrieked happily.
Rain started to pour quickly so you put on your helmet and lifted the visor.
"You can choose where we go today! Anywhere to get out of this rain and lightning before we become cooked!" You exclaimed
Drifter bellowed before reaching his top speed to get to a more calmer cloud, he might've even exceeded it in some peoples eyes.
Immediately he came out of the swarm of clouds, it was nighttime already which was predictable to you.
You heard many dragon roars up ahead and Drifter immediately began to dive into some sort of forest, how far did Drifter get already at top speed?
For some odd reason, Drifter became on edge.
You tumbled off of Drifter due to the rough landing that he had sustained, he began to roar although it wasn't a roar that would end up controlling dragons.
It was a distress call to any dragon in the relative area.
"Drifter? Drifter. What's wrong?" You asked
Drifter shook his head before looking at you and roared, he lowered himself and you crouched down beside him to ready your bow.
Something was up ahead and you knew that Drifter knew about it, he probably knew what was coming too which was why he became on edge.
Some sort of movement could be heard and it only got louder which meant a dragon was getting closer, if it was a Viking there would be way more noise than before since Vikings weren't exactly graceful. Take it from you.
