The Story of Palu ~ AONUNG X OC

The next day...

Tsireya, Ao'nung and Rotxo, the shorter guy, took us diving. I was excited and nervous at the same time, especially being around Ao'nung..

They elegantly glided into the water. Lo'ak and Neteyam jumped in first all silly. Then Me, Kiri, and Tuk hopped in.

I looked around and was fascinated by the beauty of the reef and the animals, it was absolutely amazing. The water was so clear I couldn't believe it, it was like liquid glass. Well now that I think about it, it is liquid glass!

What took me by surprise was that fish didn't even swim away which gave me a chance to take a good look at each one.

Kiri was even more fascinated than I was, I honestly thought she could breathe underwater because she was too distracted by the ocean.

I realized Tsireya and the other guys already swam further in the ocean so me and my brothers swam as fast as we could to catch up.

Tsireya seemed very amused by us and I surely couldn't blame her since we probably looked like we were drowning.

I couldn't believe how fast they were. It was hard to catch up to them, but luckily they waited from time to time for us.

After some time me and my brothers needed some air so we quickly swam back up.

We all gasped for air and then went down again.

Tsireya gave us some weird hand signals but when she saw the confused look on our faces she just waved us over. I took another quick breath of air and dived back down.

As soon as we went back down, they already disappeared. We needed air again Lo'ak tried to communicate that we needed to go up but just ended up following us.

Aonung, Rotxo and Tsireya came up to check on us, they were so elegant in the water it was crazy. "Are you alright?" Tsireya asked. I wrapped my arm around who I thought was Neteyam, but when I looked to the left and saw all of my siblings there I quickly realised that my arm was wrapped around Ao'nung.

For some reason he didn't even back away, I got off him and apologized.

"You're too fast, wait for us" Tuk answered her question and Tsireya answered "Just breath".
"You are not very good divers" Ao'nung said laughing. "Maybe at swinging through trees" He laughed again and then got smacked by Tsireya and she swam back down.

"Ow!" He said. I swam up next to him. "Aww what's the matter? Does Ao'nung have a boo boo? Does he need a kiss to make him feel better?" I teased at him.

"Maybe I do" I heard Ao'nung mumbled and I quickly looked to him, Ao'nung floated there with a wide smirk on his face, "So?" "So what?" "Are you going to kiss me?" He teased "Yea right." I muttered before realizing everyone left.

"Great, we lost them." "Just follow me" Ao'nung answered before bringing me back to the land exactly where the others were.

Couple hours later...

We started with a new lesson, learning how to ride Ilu, they were super playful creatures . "If you want to live here, you have to ride" Ao'nung explained. When he said that, he smirked at me,  I blushed a bit and turned my head away.

Tsireya instructed Lo'ak to go first. I watched him get all "prepared and act all professional or whatever." We all watched and he flew off immediately in the water, he wasn't sitting on it correctly and just went for it, which led to him just instantly flying off. Ao'nung and his friends started laughing and I tried my best not to burst into laughter since I knew I would fail miserably as well.

"Palu is it alright if Ao'nung helps you? I need to help Kiri and Tuk" Tsireya asked me. I got butterflies in my stomach when she asked me. I was a bit nervous and embarrassed to have Ao'nung help me. He already makes me nervous enough. Even though I wasn't comfortable with it, I still told her it's fine and that I will.

I looked over at Ao'nung and swam over. My heart was racing and I started to shake a bit from being so nervous. I swam to the Ilu and mounted onto it. "This ok?", " You need to sit a bit more here" he said while he had his hands on my hips and pushing me a bit back. I got so many butterflies in my stomach when I felt his hands on my hips.

"Ok, go for it." He instructed. I took a deep breath and dived right in, with the advise that he gave me I managed to not fall off of it, I almost did. And when I went to emerge again I embarrassed myself by slipping but I fixed myself.

I gasp for air back up, and I see him and his friends laughing. "Yea, real funny huh?" I said to him. "Kinda" He smirks. "Whatever." I get up and walk out of the water. "Cmon are you mad? It was a joke" I pulled my arm off of him and snarled.

After we got out of the water Tsireya and Rotxo wanted to teach us breathing techniques. She started by saying "breathe in" made a small pause to breathe in and continued with "breathe out". She said "Imagine a flickering flame" so I tried it. It helped, I think?

"You must slow down you're heart beat" she advised before touching Lo'ak on the chest and the lower stomach and telling him to breath from his stomach. "Breathe out slowly" Tsireya calmly said.

I watched Lo'ak breathe out and just giggled because I saw him getting nervous.
"Lo'ak, you're heartbeat is fast" "Sorry" Lo'ak apologized "Try and focus." Which got me holding my laughter which I was struggling to do. I just silently laughed with Rotxo and Neteyam. Kiri looked very annoyed and I quickly shushed us.

Minutes later, Kiri asked me "Palu, do you wanna swim together" "Sure" I happily agreed.
We took our Ilu's and dived underwater, it felt like seeing the ocean from a completely different angle. As we went deeper, everything became bioluminescent. It was so magical and beautiful.
