Imagine you sunbathing in the beach, and the originals are also there, so you watch Kol's eye, and he asks you for a swim, accidentally getting you wet (Not in the dirty way), but you're a mermaid, so you have to run outta there.

I was at the beach, just enjoying the weather. I know I shouldn't be seen like this in public, because I'm a mermaid, but well, a girl's gotta have fun!

I then felt eyes on me, I looked to see a guy with black hair and brown eyes looking at me, I smiled, and waved. He smirked and waved back.

I then went back to sunbathing, but I heard someone coming towards me. I wasn't that far from the water, so the guy and someone with blond hair, and dark blue/green eyes, looking like his brother came over to me.

"Hello, darling. What's your name?" asked the brown haired guy

"Y/n. What about you?" I asked

"I'm Kol. And this is my brother, Niklaus" said Kol, hmm, never heard of that name before.

"Niklaus is the name my father gave me. Please, call me Klaus" said Klaus

"You can also call him Nik, that's what we call him" said Kol

"Nice to meet you guys" I said

"Likewise. How about you join us for a swim?" asked Kol

I sat up, thinking about it for a minute, then standing up to be able to talk to them easier. "Sorry, I don't think I can get in right now"

"Why not? Busy day?" asked Kol

"No. My whole day is free" I said

"Then why not swim? The water is really nice" said Kol, placing a strap of hair behind my ear, he had come out of the water so his hand was wet.

Oh shit-

I got wet-

"I-I'm sorry, I have to go" I said, and was just about to leave, when Kol grabbed my arm

"You said you had a free day" he said

"Uhh" I thought about it for a moment, looked around, everyone was minding their business.

I then looked back at Kol with eyes that said "I'm sorry" and jumped into the water as fast as I could.

I could feel him smirking, and I felt him go into the water after me. As my tail appeared, I turned around to see Kol with wide eyes. I looked at him with eyes that said "Oof, well. Now you know"

We went back up to the surface, and I did a little trick with my powers to hide my tail so no sneaky eyes see it.

"Bloody hell! You're a mer--" started Kol, with his cute as hell British accent, but I put my hand over his mouth

"You can't tell anyone else except your sibling. Or siblings" I said, he nodded

"Well, I know your secret, it's only fair if you know mine" said Kol, I could already sense he was a vampire.

"I know yours. You're a vampire. And I take from your accent and strength that you're an original" I said, he smirked, getting an arm around my waist, and pulling me closer

"The moment I saw you, I knew there was something about you. You were like a magnet pulling me towards it" said Kol, I placed my arms around his neck for better balance "Well, I can literally feel your affection"

Kol smiled before slowly leaning in and placing his lips onto mine. I then felt it. That thing, that feeling. It's like a wolf imprinting. Finding their soulmate, like it's not something they can control. It's like....it's as if you're the only people in that particular place right now. And as the sum shines brightly, you gain energy, and your powers reset for your new life.

Kol pulled away, and rested his forehead against mine "What was that thing I felt?"

"It's something about mermaids, when 2 people fall for each other, doesn't matter what they are, you feel that. It's sorta like loyalty. So if we start dating, and you cheat, you'll feel weak for a longgggg time" I said

"Well, it's a good thing I'm not planning on cheating anytime soon. Well, that's if we are dating" said Kol

"I think we pretty much are" I said, pecking him on the lips, and pulling him into a hug.
