The two finally make it back to their apartment complex and head inside. As they head to the stairs, Sabrina complains. "Why can't this place have an elevator?"
Steve chuckles, "Come on. We live on the floor above, it's not bad."
"Yeah...but stairs," Sabrina frowns as she was tired.
Steve shakes his head amused as he goes and stands in front of her and turns his back to her. "Come on."
Sabrina laughs and jumps on his back and adjusts herself. She wrap her arms around his shoulders and rests her head on his. Sabrina grins, "I love you."
Steve just laughs and shakes his head again, "I love you more."
As Steve walks up the stairs they hear their neighbor, Kate, talking on the phone. "That's so sweet. That is so nice. Hey. I gotta go, though. Okay, bye." Kate turns around and waves at Steve and Sabrina. "My aunt, she's kind of an insomniac."
Sabrina laughs, "Sounds like my cousins."
Sabrina notices that she is holding a laundry basket, "hey, if you want, you're welcome to use one of our machines. Might be cheaper than the one in the basement."
"Oh, yeah? What's it cost?" Kate asks Sabrina just shrugs.
"Thank you, but um...I already have a load in downstairs, and, uh...you really don't want my scrubs in your machine. I'm just finished orientation in the infectious diseases ward, so," Kate trails off.
"Ah, well, we'll keep our distance," Steve jokes.
"Well hopefully not too far," Kate says and then looks at Steve. "Oh, and I think you left your stereo on."
Sabrina frowns and Steve replies, "Oh. Right, thank you."
"Yeah," Kate replies before heading downstairs.
"Did you leave the stereo on?" Steve asks Sabrina.
"No. Did you?" she asks.
"No," Steve replies.
Sabrina gets off Steve's back as they both put their ear to the door as they hear music. "I'll go through the window, you turn invisible and go through the front door. I'll meet you inside," Steve instructs and Sabrina nods. She makes herself invisible and phases through the front door and walks forward as quietly as she could. She makes her way through the apartment and turns her head to see Steve cautiously climbing through the window. She continues her way and peaks her head through the living room to see Fury sitting on Steve's armchair. Sabrina sighs and makes herself visible. Steve comes from behind her and puts his shield resting down on his side.
"I don't remember giving you a key," Steve sarcastically says.
"You really think I'd need one? My wife kicked me out," Fury replies making Sabrina frown. He didn't have a wife. Not to her knowledge anyways. She could feel that he was feeling stressed and could tell something was off.
