"There go Tintin and Eleanor."
"Did you hear about the hauntings that Tintin and Eleanor debunked?"
"Tintin, Eleanor?! Can I get a quote from you for the Newspaper?"
You could never hear one of their names without the others'. Tintin and Eleanor wer...
There, in the beam of my light, was a guard dog, specifically a Rottweiler. Tintin gasped from behind me and quickly grabbed my arm as it started to bark.

"Run!" He exclaimed.
We both began to sprint away into the overgrown woods next to the manor. The dog chased after us, barking and growling.
"Hill!" I shouted, seeing the steep ahead of us. Both Tintin and I slid down the hill with one foot forward, allowing us to continue running, barely losing speed but the dog was still gaining on us.
There was a stream ahead of us so we both quickly jumped over that. The dog hit the water and slowed down some but not enough. I saw a branch coming up and got an idea. The dog was behind us once again so I grabbed the branch as I passed it, pulling it back before releasing it. It snapped towards the dog but the Rottweiler bit through the branch.
My eyes widened in fear at this but it only got worse as I saw the end of the property line in front of us and nowhere to turn. Tintin and I had to slow down so we didn't run into the wall. Realizing there was nowhere to go, Tintin quickly pulled me into his chest and put me in between him and the wall, exposing himself to the dog.
"No, wait!" I exclaimed in realization about what was about to happen to him.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Snowy jumped out of the bush beside us and started barking at the Rottweiler. The dog backed down and lay on his side while Snowy continued to bark. The chase was over.
In exhaustion, I slid to the wall to the ground while Tintin let go of me and sat beside me.
"Well done, Snowy." Tintin gasped with a smile.
"Good boy. Good boy." I said as I pet him and breathed.
"Are you alright?" Tintin asked me.
"Why did you do that?" I told him, catching my breath still.
"Do what?" He asked.
"You put yourself right in the dog's way." I scolded him.
"I believe that's called protecting you." He said, catching his breath still too.
"You shouldn't have - you could've gotten hurt!" I exclaimed.
"What about you?! You would've gotten hurt if I hadn't!" He argued.
"I'd rather myself hurt than you!" I said.
"And I'd rather myself hurt than you!" He retorted.
We both sat in silence for a moment.
"Well, it doesn't matter now, let's just be glad that neither of us got hurt." He said, getting up off the ground.
"Okay, yeah." I agreed. He offered his hand to me and I grabbed it. He gently pulled me up but didn't let go of my hand.
"I'm serious, Ella. I wouldn't know what to do if you got hurt. I'd do the same thing again." He said before letting go and picking up his flashlight off the ground.
