Lightning Hores

As I sit on my brother's back, looking at the moon, I wonder what life would have been like if I escaped with them. Maybe I could really be happy, but I know they don't like me. I was a suck up, only because I was scared. Once we reach the lab Jake goes to his room and I go to Lilo's cell. She sits up when she sees me, "They got away" i reassure her.

"Or did you let them?" She looks at me with soft eyes. I sit down against a wall right outside her cell. "Why? Why do you like those monsters?"

"They're going to save the world," I say calmly, looking at her with weak eyes.

"They hurt you, but you still love them," She questions me, "Ever since we were kids-"

"I did what I had to do to survive!" I cut her off. Her eyes filled with remorse, "We were kids, and I just lost my parents," I looked down and started to cry, "I just wanted to survive."

"There are so many other ways. Mia, we could have helped you!" She crawls towards the glass that divides us. I bang my head against the wall behind me, looking at the ceiling, "Tell me about your mom."

"She looked just like Jake, and s-she would run her hands through my hair," I muttered out, "She loved my hair and how long it was," I smiled through my tears.

"Is that why you cut it?" I put my hands through my black hair that was cut into a bob.

"Yeah, yeah it is," I look her in her eyes, "I'm sorry for everything," she smiles warmly, "But I have to do whatever it takes to survive," I watch her smile turn into disbelief. I get up with my head down and walk over to a lever "Tell me what they need to know." I say coldly.

"I can't," she cries out.

"Then I'm sorry," I shut my eyes not wanting to look at her.

"No! Please! It's not too late! Mia i know you, please," i shed one last tear and pull the lever that sends electrical shocks into Lilos Cage, "MIA" i hear her scream in pain and my eyes open wide but i still can't look at her. After 2 minutes I turn it off and walk out the door without another word.

As soon as I step out someone grabs my arm, "You let them go!?" It was Dr.Jay, one of the scientists. He started walking still hanging on to me. My heart started to rase, I knew I was in trouble and that I would suffer for my actions. "Are you stupid? How could you let them go!?"

"I'm sorry! I'll get them, promise!" I begged even though I knew it wouldn't work. We walk into a lab where Jake is strapped to a surgical table. "Don't hurt him! It was my fault, my idea, please!" They strapped me to another table. I look at Jake. He's unconscious.

They attach wires to me and push a button causing me to let out a blood curdling scream as I feel pain spread through my body. Then everything goes dark.

                                                                               Lilos POV

After Mia leaves, I just lay on the floor in unbelievable pain. A few minutes go by, and I hear a ground shaking scream. It was Mia. I cried hearing her scream in pain, she was a sister to me. Oh, Dian if only you were her. Everything was quiet until I heard a bang. I tried to get up but with every move a jolt of pain went through my broken body.

"Stay strong darling," a whisper goes through my head. Tears swell up in my eyes.

"Dian! Is that you?" I wait for an answer, "I need you! I can't do it!"

"Yes, you can. I have to go darling, stay strong," Her voice leaves my head. I form a fist and let out an ear shattering scream.

I crawl to the farthest end of my cell and hold my knees to my chest. All I can do is cry and wait. All I can do is wait for the pain to stop. All I can do is wait for the screaming to stop. I drift off to sleep. 5 minutes go by, and I hear the door to my cell open. I crack my eyes open to see Mia stumble in. "Are you okay?" I try to move towards her.

"What do you think?" she snaps at me. She closes the door behind her and falls into my arms. "Can I just stay here for a while?" I wrap my arms around her and chuckle.

"Of Course, you can," She leans into me, relaxing her body. I watch eyes staring at us from outside a door, "Go away you monster!" I kiss Mia on the forehead and lay my head on hers. I run my hands up and down her arms. I look at her hands that look burned and hair that looked singed. "They'll come for us and we'll be free," i promise her.

"I wanna leave and take you and Jake with me" she cries into my arms.

"I know, I know you do," I rocked her back and forth. "If i don't make it out of her i want you to be happy and get rid of those monsters." My lips quiver.

"Don't talk like that! I will get you out of here! Alive, "I smile and rub her back.

                                                                          2 hours later

                                                                               Mia Pov

I wake up in Lilo's arms. I slowly got up so as not to wake her up. I walk out of her cell, locking it behind me. I walk down the hall holding my shoulder to me and Jake's room. My eyes feel heavy, and every step feels like my last. When I open my room door, I see Jake laying on his bed who immediately sits up when I enter. "Mia I can't-" he starts.

"Don't! We do this to survive! You do this and we will finish what we started! Even if it kills us!" I snap at him then plop onto my bed.

"But why? They did nothing wrong!" Jake dares to raise his voice at me.

"Because!" I begin to cry, "They left us" I look at him with tears in my eyes. "And not once did they look back."

"They are the only family we know Mia," Jake starts to cry as well.

"You don't think I know that! But you are my brother, and I will not put you endanger because of them!" I wipe the tears from my face, "If we don't finish this what happened today will be 10 times worse!"

He looks away knowing I'm right. He lays in his bed facing opposite from me. "Sometimes i don't know who you are" he pulls his cover over his head showing that he's done talking.

Dr.Jay walks in laughing "If you 2 are done, I have a message for you." 

"What," Jake says annoyed while sitting up.

"Watch your tone!" Jay yells at him. Jake stands up ready to fight.

"Jake," i look him in the eyes and he sits back down.

"7 am tomorrow you will go capture those troublesome 4 or else your cut." Jay says with a smile. i hold my neck knowing the real meaning behind "cut."

"We won't let you down," i could stand to look at him "Jay, if we get them, we'll be free?"

"Let's see what happens first," he walks out. Me and Jake look at each other with a worried look. we turn around and go to bed.
