"Hey man," Hizashi said, grinning.

"Hey," Shota replied, setting down his red pen.

"I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd stop by," Hizashi said. "Is now a bad time?"

"No, not at all," Shota said, standing up from the couch. "Coffee?"

"Sure," Hizashi said, following him into the kitchen. "What are you grading?"

"Class 1-A's hero evaluations," Shota said, pouring two cups of coffee. "Gotta keep them on their toes."

Hizashi laughed. "I'm sure they appreciate it."

They settled at the kitchen table, chatting about their day. Shota found himself relaxing, enjoying the company. He didn't often entertain, but with Hizashi it was easy.

After a while, Hizashi yawned. "Man, I'm beat. Mind if I crash here tonight?"

"Not at all," Shota said. He led Hizashi to the spare room, where he had a bed made up for just such occasions.

As Hizashi got ready for bed, Shota couldn't help but think about how good it was to have him there. They'd been friends for years, and something about Hizashi was just soothing to Shota.

Hizashi emerged from the bathroom in a pair of pajama pants and a t-shirt, looking like the picture of relaxation. Shota felt himself smiling.

"Thanks again for having me," Hizashi said, climbing into bed. "You're a good friend, Aizawa."

"You too, Yamada," Shota said, turning off the light. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight," Hizashi said, and soon Shota could hear his breathing even out as he fell asleep.

Shota laid in bed for a while, thinking about his friend. Something about Hizashi's presence just made everything better. Eventually, he drifted off to sleep as well, smiling at the thought of Hizashi in the next room.
