USWNT x reader imagines

Request: Rose Lavelle x reader - R has a crush on Rose and is trying to flirt with her, but Rose is totally clueless. E.g. R takes Rose on a date while Rose thinks it is just a normal day off at camp with a teammate.

Rose Lavelle is the most amazing yet frustrating person you have ever met.

It was no secret that you had a crush on the midfielder in fact the entire team knew the way you felt about her but for some reason Rose was completely oblivious. You would go out to fancy restaurants with each other, spend all of your downtime together yet no matter how hard you tried Rose always thought you were joking when you told her it was a date.

You watch her as she talks to Lindsey about Wilma and Ferguson.

"You know you could always tell her how you feel?" Sam asks as she takes a seat next to you.

"I did" you state blatantly.

The tower of power chokes on her drink causing you to laugh as some went on Kristie.

"So you two are finally together"Kristie asks as she wipes her face.

"Nope"

"But you said" You cut sam off.

"I know what I said Sam"

You were telling the truth. Last week Rose invited you to Cincinnati for her father's 60th birthday party. Although you hadn't told them, her family knew how you felt how Rose. Her father cornered you and said you should tell her how you felt to which you to played it off and tried to change the subject but it didn't work. He said he knew that you loved his daughter because you looked at her like she hung the stars.

"I told her that I liked her and she said of course you do we are best friends. I then when into detail but she just dismissed my feelings"

Sam and Kristie knew that you were hurting, they could hear it in your voice.

"I don't know what else to do. I guess it is time for me to move on, clearly she doesn't feel the same way"

"Y/N" Kristie says.

"I just going to go back to my room" you tell them.

What you don't know is that Rose was watching as you talked to the Mewis' sisters.

"Is she ok?" Rose asked concerned.

"You can be really stupid at times, you know that?" Sam says.

Rose looks at her friend confused. She was known for being a little bit stupid at times but she didn't know what Sam was talking about and Kristie picks up on her confusion.

"Nothing interesting happen at your Dad's birthday?" The older Mewis asks.

Rose thinks back to that night but nothing significant comes to mind.

"Y/N told you she liked you" Sam answers her sister question.

"We are best friends Sam, of course she likes me" Rose says.

Both Sam and Kristie look at each other not believing how naive the midfielder could be.

"Like I said Rose you can be stupid" Sam says walking away.

"What did I do?" Rose asks Kristie.

"You need to figure it out by yourself Rose but if you don't do it soon you will lose her" Kristie says referring to you.

Rose sits there at the table by herself, what were the Mewis' talking about and why would she lose you.

You didn't want to avoid Rose completely but you had to find a way to move on or at least try. If this meant not spending everyday by her side then so be it. You were hurting yourself by not seeing her, there were so many times you almost gave up and went back to being her best friend as if nothing has happened.
