Miles holds it up for both of them to see.
"Oh, you gotta be kidding me." Peter can't believe he's been duped. "Don't watch the mouth, watch the hands." Miles is quick to show off he does the same gesture that Peter did the night they met with a knowing smirk.
They don't get to protest as Miles jumps off the building they're standing on, not giving them a second to put doubt in his heart. He shoots a web at a nearby building and uses it to launch himself up to the ceiling.
He can do this. He has to.
And as he falls he makes eye contact with his teammates. "Miles!" Worry danced in their hearts.
Miles falls into a narrow gap between two buildings and once he's out he shoots another web at the moving machine. He sticks to the moving parts as it leads him up to where he needs to go.
Peter and Gwen watch in awe. Proud of him. In disbelief at what he could do, all he needed was a push, they couldn't believe how capable Miles truly was.
Peter clears his throat, "I taught him that." His arms crossed over his chest. Gwen looks back at the man a judging look on her face. "I don't even think your body can handle something like that." She says. Peter's brows raised, "Did you just call me old!?" Gwen simply scoffs and utters maybe under her breath.
Once Miles made it to the top he shot a web at a moving bus and propelled forward. He swung around the beam the collider was emitting and used the momentum to swing toward the ceiling up to the turn-off switch. "Shit, that was crazy." Miles catches his breath.
"Uh... we taught him that right?" Peter says with a lick of hesitation, staring at Miles in disbelief. "I didn't teach him that," Gwen says shocked to her core. Quickly dismissing the idea of her teaching Miles to do something like that,
Miles sticks the flash drive in smiling at his friend's words. "Guys I got control of the beam! Get up here!" At those words, everyone comes to his call.
And Kingpin's anger grows as he watches his Wife and child disappear at the hands of Miles Morales. He slammed his hands down on the computer screen in anguish. He looks up at the six Spiderlings. "Spider-Man." He uttered with unquenchable rage. His eyes burned with resentment.
The six look around at each other. This was probably the last time they would see each other. It was a bittersweet moment. It was silent, they were all trying to soak up the last moment they had with each other. The last time they would talk to someone who knew their life stories. "Guess this is it," Gwen says looking around at all her new friends. People she never thought she'd meet in her lifetime.
"Well, it's nice to know we're not alone," Peni says with a shrug. The young girl smiles at everyone. "Right?"
"Yeah," Gwen says with a teary grin.
Miles takes his mask off, he wants to get a better look at the people who have been by his side since the start. The only people that will truly understand him. His friends.
He gives himself a second, a sad smile on his face. Miles shakes his head, he can't get caught in the moment the boy has a mission to complete. He gets to typing away at the keypad trying to revert the collider to its natural state and send everyone home. He finds Peni's dimension with ease, smiling with satisfaction. He looks up at the girl.
"I got the portal open, you first Peni."
The young girl nods her head in thanks. Peni takes a short step forward, "Thank you, Miles." She looks down at her spider friend, "From the both of us." The spider jumps up in glee on Peni's arm. They all get one last look at the girl before she jumps off and into the flurry of color, she goes.
