Chapter 8

Daddy!!" I hear Kai scream. I'm standing in the middle of the street. People are walking around everywhere. It seems like everyone is in a hurry and everyone ignores me.  "Kai!" I yell back and look around me. I can't see him anywhere. I don't know where his screaming is coming from. "Kai where are you?!" I yell and try to walk through the crowd. "Did you  heard it.  Emma has disappeared." I hear a woman say to another woman. "Aw, poor girl.  Hopefully she will be home soon." Says the other woman. Then I see people walking with the news paper open. Emma's face is on the front page. I walk towards the women. "Have you seen my son Kai?" "Kai  ?  Who is that?" The woman says uninterested. "Emma Warner is missing.  That's bad." The woman says angrily to me. "Daddy help me!" I hear Kai call out anxiously again. I look around and see Emma's faces everywhere on the large screens on the high buildings. But Kai.  .. Kai is also missing!

Then I hear a girl laughing.  I turn back and see Nova grinning at me.  "Then catch me if you can!"  she laughs and runs into the crowd.  "Nova!"  I yell and run after her.  When I go through the group of people I lose her.  "Kenji!"  I hear Nazeera calling.  I look back and see her glaring at me.  "Nazeera, I tried him.. I'm sorry..." "Kenji!"  she shouts angrily again.  This is all my fault.

"Kenji" Suddenly my eyes pop open and I gasp.  The first thing I see is Nazeera's worried look.  "It's okay."  She says and runs her hand over my face and gives me a kiss on my cheek.  I look around and see that I am lying in bed.  Juliette and Warner's guest room.  Then I see Juliette standing behind Nazeera and Warner in the doorway.  I look at Nazeera again.  "You had a bad nightmare."  She says and runs her hand through my hair.

Nazeera.  She's here.  She's really here.  I pull her into a hug, too scared to lose her too.  She hugs me back.  "It's all... Because of me... Kai..." I mumble through my breath.  "It's not your fault okay. And we're going to find him. The ones who kidnapped him signed for hell, and they can collect the ticket from me."  She says and she lets go of me to look me in the eyes again.  She's only been gone 2 days but it feels like 20 years.
"Put your clothes on Kenji. We're going to find our kids."  Warner says and walks away from us.  The rest follow him.

After a quick shower and clean clothes I walk into the kitchen.  Juliette is on her knees with Dog.  It is an old animal but usually still cheerful.  Now he lies sad.  "Is everything okay with him?"  I ask and crouch on my knees by J. "He hasn't eaten anything since Emma left."  she says while petting him.  "I'd be so sorry if Emma comes home and he…" "Hey, J. Don't think about it. He's just sad. We're taking Emma home today. She'll be the one to feed him again okay."  She nods.  I reach out my hand and help her up.  I put my arm around her and we walk into the living room together.

We see my beautiful Nazeera sitting at her laptop and Warner is talking to someone on the phone.  "I do not care about that."  Warner says annoyed.  "Although the world is on fire. My world is on fire right now....Fine. Then I'll handle it myself. But I don't want to hear from you how I'm going to handle this situation" Warner says and hangs up  on.

"What's going on?" asks J. "There have been attacks on 2 different banks in the north. The teams that were supposed to help us have changed their situation and now have to help there. They won't be able to help us until the end of this afternoon.  We only have the local police who can help us."  Warner says and I can see him struggling not to break his phone. "So it's back to us."  I say and shake my head.

"We may have a location." Nazeera says.  "There are 5 locations where they could possibly be. Old prisons, factories and a sector that was scheduled to be demolished."  she says and continues to type on her laptop.  "I hacked into the camera system of 3 of the 5 buildings. They both seem to be empty. No activity is present."  "So we have to check 2 locations."  says Warner and looks at me. "We're going right away." I nod.

"I'm putting on my shoes."  J says and wants to leave the room.  "Ella."  J turns and looks questioningly at Warner.  "You know you can't come along, love."  I frown and look at J. "You can't leave me here and think I'm not going to do anything."  J says angrily.  "I can't take you either, love. And you know very well why."  Warner says.  I don't get it.  Warner has never excluded J anywhere.  He has always followed her as the leader she is.  "Why can't she come along. What's going on?"  I ask, looking from J to Warner back to J. She looks at me guiltily.  "I wanted to tell it in a fun way. Together with Emma."  she muttered softly.  "Ow my god."  Nazeera says with wide eyes.  She gets it.  I do not get it.  What is happening?

J looks at me carefully.  "I am pregnant."  I look at her with wide eyes.  "Holy shit princess!"  I call and hug her.  "Holy shit."  She smiles softly.  "Emma be a big sister..." Her smile disappears again.  "She needs to come home."  "We'll take care of that."  Says nazeraa and she closes her laptop.  "But Warner's right. You should stay home."  J sighs defeated.  "Hey, but now you have plenty of time to bake that cake for me."  I say and smile at her.  Juliette chuckles softly and nods.  Warner walks up to her and kisses her.  "I'll bring her home today. Promise."  He says as he gently rubs his forehead against J's.  I look at Nazeraa as she walks towards me and gives me a kiss too.  "And we bring our son home."
