I'm standing in front of the big wide building.  It is a dark building in the middle of a large forest.  If you don't know it's there, you won't find it.  That's why this was the hiding place for them.  For me.  This is my base.  I can't call it a home.  I have no home.  No family and no friends.  Kai
They tell me that over and over again.  Do everything I can to not get attached to anyone.  The dark king is for whom I obey, fight and do what is asked.  No, he never asks.  He just says it and I listen.  He's the only one who can control me.  Him and the chess player.  Although I have not yet met the chess player.

I am not allowed to feel warmth and love for anyone else.  The only one they let me in was Evie.  And now she's dead.  Killed by Kenji Kishimoto.  Because of his action and my grief, I almost killed Kai.  The only one who ever listened to me.  Really listened.  And he promised to protect me.  And he did.  No one has ever done that before.

I close my eyes and think about what Kai had told me.  "And just before you fall asleep you feel a kiss on your head and he says he loves you."  Warmth and love... Maybe I should go to him after all...

The door of the building opens and I see Leo standing there.  One of the employees.  I've known him all my life and he's as cold as the dark king.  Everyone working on this is cold.  No heat.  No love.  "Come on in."  he commands.  I have to listen to everyone who works here.  I could snap their necks like Drake's.  But the dark king will punish me for that.  No matter how fast or how far I run.  He always knows where to find me.  He knows everything about me.  As if he has an app about me on his mobile.  Like I'm a robot.  Maybe I am in his eyes too.

I walk in and take a quick look around.  Not much has changed since I was here last.  There are always people walking around.  In lab coats or clothes as if they are going to war.  Everyone has their own task.  The reason these people work for the chess player I don't know.  Maybe they are paid well or agree with his plans.  Or her.  Maybe it's a woman.

"Go to your room. He," The dark king.  "Be here in half an hour to see you and talk about your latest assignment."  The assignment that didn't go as it should at all.  Emma and Kai should never have been there.  I don't know how Drake found them.  But of course he couldn't resist taking them with him.  His hope and illusion that Emma would have the same powers as her mother.  What a crazy idiot he is who set his own building on fire.  And then he used the device that made him hurt all the children.  He hurt Kai And it didn't look like he's stopping anytime soon.  I had to stop him.  I had to kill him.  Everything is ruined thanks to him.

I walk straight to my room without saying anything.  I walk to the basement and take the stairs down.  After walking through a few corridors I arrive at my room and open the door.  My single bed is against the wall.  On the other side is a table with a chair.  There is a door to a bathroom with only a toilet and sink.  A lamp is mounted in the ceiling.  It may change color as a sign that I need to do something.  Everything is gray or white.  No windows.  The space together is about 10 square meters.

I walk into my room and close the door behind me.  I lie on my back on the bed and only then do I feel how tired I am.  My muscles relax and my eyelids grow heavy.  But I can't fall asleep.  I shift myself to my side and look at the empty table that is there.  I miss my chessboard.  Maybe if I can think of a good excuse he'll give me one.  But it won't.  He has never given me anything except the necessities of life or punishment.  I was made to work for them.  To complete assignments.  Nothing more nothing less.

I hear a buzzer and my eyes immediately pop open.  I fell asleep.  I don't know for how long but it can't be more than half an hour.  The light in my room has turned blue.  The dark king is here and wants to see me.  I sit up and rub my eyes.  I take a deep breath and leave my room without thinking.
